To return for one final moment to the Mail.app thingie. I got a much simpler fix. Enter your ISP's DNS servers in the System Prefs->Network->DNS Servers panel. Bingo! Fixed! Only problem now - I've moved over to Entourage!

""Go the /etc/hosts fix for now."" Maybe I"m being dense but I don't see a fix involving /etc/hosts? Just where is that .... I am not into deep system gunk!

So how would one change one's router from 192.168.x.x to give a 10x.x.x address for the Mac? (Netgear)

Anyone noticed a problem with Mail.app after the upgrade? I have a large number of messages and it was always a bit slow to load, but now....!! It either stalls or goes to the spinning wheel and takes an age to load up - needs several tries somet…

Sounds exactly like my problem noise Jake B. I'm wondering about trying to fire it up with the back off and try a non-conductive probe to see if I can locate the noise source - fan or disc. Just how do you switch it on without the button?

Why not just contact Infinity direct?

I have to agree with the last comment. Surely the "profitability " of one's care setup must have the reliability of the product as one major factor. I think that the "UK" care operation, which I have used recently, is like the store in Ireland - …

Try http://www.bluetake.com/products/BT420EX.htm. For a bluetooth set which looks as though it would plug into the iPod. Cool idea but the add-on pack seems a bit bulky

Another progress update...... Passed in front of the store today. Hoarding down, but all windows blacked out with black self-adhesive panels bearing the white Apple logo and the opening date. Working on the footway surfacing. Looking through t…

20" BT BTO - ordered 8/10 - quoted shipping 5/11 +5-7 days delivery. Shipped 28/10 but did not leave Shanghai until 1/11. Handed over to TNT 8/11 as far as I can see and delivered yesterday 10/11. It seems the delays in shipping can be waiting for…

Well at long last my 20" BTO arrived this morning! Released for shipping on 28/10 so it's taken 10 working days to get to London. What a whopper! Quite brilliant and very well designed packaging. Excellent screen no dead pixels that I can spo…

Thank you segovius - I had the same query as Placebo - but (s)he got there first! A really useful article with lots of links to get more info! But I need more info on the dyndns bit (scratching head) of which the jargon is a bit confusing to me.…

My commiserations - shame you are having to wait so long! The 20" seems to have attracted more sales than they expected and I suppose BTO does cause some problem on the production line. Hang on in there - you won't be disappointed when it does …

Ordered 20" +BT (will add the extra RAM my self) on 8/10 or 10/8 (if you are US) delivery was to be 5/11 but it apparently it was despatched on 28/10. apart from the note on K&N that the flight was booked 1/11 there is no more news yet and TNT a…

Have a look at this link to see sample Lucky Bag contents

Now then - any speculations as to who will cut the tape at the "Grand Opening"?? Or will it simply be - open doors and rugby scrum/ first day of Harrod's sale?

Join me in the Lucky Bag queue! 8)

Further irony - isn't the Apple Store UK based in Ireland? Or is it that they only employ Irish sounding staff?
-
Try this url http://www.apecode.com/appletrack/. Apple use Kuehne & Nagel apparently. I have the same tracking problem and this seems to work. Oh and my 20" iMac shipped yesterday from Shanghai !!! 7 days early!

Fabulous looking store!! And London has not even got a full-size place - YET!! I can't wait for late November's opening! And an airport location would be just great - provided of course it was in the duty free zone at the terminal you were actuall…
