Unfortunately, many of them don't have homeowner insurance. Many insurance companies dropped their coverages for many homes in Southern California due to inevitable wildfires and earthquakes. Same with Florida due to storms and floods.

That is why I am working on deactivating my Meta accounts. I am so fed up with Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg and their stances on many topics that are simply incompatible with my values.

Why should Apple and Google be fined? They should just be ordered to remove the apps and the app creators should be the ones being criminally prosecuted for knowingly violating the terms of service and laws.

Just saw this article which echos my guts about Apple's plan to use chiplet designs. https://www.techspot.com/article/2678-chiplets-explained

I don't think a monolithic die makes sense. I am pretty sure they will be doing chiplet designs which makes economic sense and can offer impressive performance on some tasks.

Does that mean there will be no M4 Ultra, just M5 Pro/Max and Ultra later on? The rumors int he past suggest M4 Ultra will be processed on NPX process (designed for high end computing) and then after that, they start the M5 for base Macs using 2nm. …

I use Home app with cameras, lights, etc but it is clear that Apple is still behind with some crucial features - notably, the ability to display logs of those devices that were triggered and what triggered them.

Some of them were badly summarized. It still needs a lot of work.

It's not radical. It's WHAT they should be and expected to be. If Apple wants Apple Vision Pro to succeed, it must have at least two cameras. The rumors of having one camera is just silly.

If it's encrypted end to end, how is it possible to detect CSAM?

I love Apple Watch for that reason. It is incredible how much they collect about your health and how often I move as movement is crucial for circulation and health. Sleep is another bonus .

I didn't mind the butterfly keyboard when it comes to typing but it did cause mechanical problems - it's simply not resilient nor durable. Keys easily get stuck. When my macbook swelled a bit due to defect in battery (it was recalled btw), a littl…

I don't agree with DOJ's premise therefore I do think it's wrong and counterproductive for Google to sell Chrome. We have plenty of browser alternatives that work just fine.

MacPro said: By 'older,' I assume this means only the Apple Silicon ARM macOS version. If not, I had no idea Intel macOS versions could be run in a VM on an M chip. UTM can act as an x86 emulator to run x86 OS's.

Kinda like what Apple did with hidden Thread radio and sensors. They didn't talk about them. Also same with Apple's new watch with oxygen sensor although it no longer claims its existence.

I think the variable aperture will be used for depth of field stimulation more than anything else. Lens are already the fastest as possible on tiny sensors, but a camera with a variable aperture can take a few pictures in a rapid burst and compare t…
