All iPhone's are SIM unlocked in Hong Kong, however there is no carrier profile that enables LTE on HKT's network. As such, any Hong Kong iPhone 5 will work on their network, but won't be able to connect to their LTE network. This could be because …

#next_pages_container { width: 5px; hight: 5px; position: absolute; top: -100px; left: -100px; z-index: 2147483647 !important; } It probably didn't make sense to ask for a password for free apps, except possibly for apps rated 17+.

Looks like a ripoff. I pay €5 ($6.12 at today's exchange rate) per month in Ireland for unlimited data on my iPhone. In fairness, I had to buy the iPhone unsubsidised.

In Ireland I pay €5 per month to a MVNO on the o2 network for unlimited monthly data transfer (I don't know if it's truly unlimited yet, but I used 7GB last month and they didn't complain), and have the €5 left to spend. That includes tethering. P…

Apple doesn't sell refurbished computers on a small section of its website temporarily and that's an "international outage" now?

The article made it seem like she bought the house so she doesn't have to stay in a hotel. Doesn't seem to make any sense.

The new MacBook Pro is just as recyclable. It is not magically now non-recyclable simply because a few components are glued together. However, it does not fit the arbitrary definitions specified by EPEAT. That's at issue here. Hang in there …

I understand that. Many so-called tax loopholes are deliberate decisions by Governments. For example, the Irish Government deliberately set corporation tax at 12.5%. It isn't a loophole that was created accidentally. As a business owner, I actuall…

reefoid, I don't understand how incorporating in Ireland is a tax loophole. I've incorporated my company here as well, and I pay my taxes. Am I exploiting a loophole? Or is it ok because I'm not an American citizen? Should companies founded by Ame…

digitalclips has hit the nail on the head. This money has already been taxed overseas, why does the US want to tax it again? That would effectively create double taxation, where you earn money, pay your taxes, and than pay taxes on what's left ove…

Here's the view over the parking lot from the main employee cafeteria. It's a view to kill for! For obvious reasons I cannot post any photos from inside the building.

In case anyone is wondering, here's what the area looks like (photo below). It's quite run down with a lot of social problems in some ways.

Well spotted. I was an admirer of BeOS at the time, I guess you could say it was the first time I saw a truly modern operating system, and kind of got a feeling about what the future would hold. The reason I felt compelled to comment is beca…

I'd say part of the reason why average voice minute usage in Europe is lower than in the US are: 1. Unlimited free incoming calls. 2. Higher cell phone penetration. In Ireland, it's at 110% right now. That's bound to have an effect on how many m…

I'm a customer of Vodafone here in Ireland, who are the "parent company" of Verizon Wireless (well, Verizon Wireless is a joint venture between Vodafone and Verizon). At any rate, we don't have crazy 24 month contracts here, and while phones are oft…
