Pretty much the only discount you can get on a new Apple is the student discount, on a 12in iBook it is only $50 off.

I am on the waiting list at my local store, I haven't decided if I want it but I got some time to decide.
-
What would be the benefit of having one be firewire?
-
I think it would be smart if they waited till the point where you could just walk into an apple store and buy one, if there is a waiting list for them then I don't really see a point in advertising.

Faulty PSU?

Thats more my price, $1350 with my student discount. edit: actually it gets as low as $1260 without the Super Drive.

It would be nice if it showed some more modern PC processors.

Apple doesn't make their own LCD panels.

There are other companies that sell LCD monitors that use the same panel as the Dell 2001FP. I think Viewsonic and NEC are a couple of them, they just aren't as cheap as the Dell. I don't see why apple couldn't just use it to make a display.

Dell 2001FP is a very nice 20.1in LCD that supports 1600x1200 with a 16ms response time, it sells for usually less than $700 from Dell since it is always on sale. I wouldn't mind seeing an Apple monitor using that same panel but with a bezel that ma…

Indianapolis is a big enough city, we need an apple store. edit: Technically Indianapolis has one, but we need one downtown Indianapolis, where is it actually convienent

I still have my same student ID I had from when I was a freshman, I am now a senior. The apple store took it, they might have some connection with the school to see if you are still currently enrolled or something I would think.

I would be awesome if they could just sell the internal bluetooth adapters as an aftermarket accessory so I didn't have to custom order it.
