Do we know for sure that OSX can be scaled down to run on a handheld? Did they (Steve, et al) forsee this possibility back when they cancelled the Newton? Or is all of this just pie-in-the-sky, wishful, HOPEFUL thinking?

I don't think we can even concieve of what Apple has coming next. Two suggest that there are only two Digital Hub devices to go shows a lack of vision.

Thanks for the QT 5 version! I don't know what I'm missing here... all this talk of a hard drive taped underneath, etc. The video is so dark, you can barely see the device this demo is running on. To me it looks like someone just cropped down their …

Is there any way someone could resave this into QuickTime 5? I'd love to see the hoax, but I'm not adventurous to try QT 6 yet.

search for "mac" and all instances of "macintosh" will also be included.

If the new, flat-panel iMac is any indication, there may be more quiet towers in Apple's future. The way the processor is rigged inside the iMac, the entire case (the metal dome under the white plastic shell) becomes a heat sink. It's pretty amazing.

I don't think the current track-pad surface material is durable enough for stylus use. There has to be something more to this idea. And don't expect it tomorrow or at MacWorld. They won't be doing a major hardware design change on either the iBooks …

Actually, Canon has a DV camcorder at $599. I think Sony has a low-end model at $699. These are Mini-DV style, which are pretty small. You can get a Sony Digital 8 for under $600 and it will even be backwards compatible with older, analog 8mm tapes …

I don't understand what you are saying. The Retail Stores ALREADY give the Education discounts to those that qualify.
-
OKAY. But I don't understand. The stores ALREADY give the educational price to those that qualify. Where's the difference?
-
That's BULL! It's an education product! Why sell it throught the stores? To who! Steve already has a lot to answer for, with his whole "the CRT is dead at Apple" statement last year. Now they'll be selling them again at the stores. I don't think so!

Someone in this

The whole thing would have been more convincing if it was grainy, dark and out of focus like a rushed digital photo that someone shot on the sly.

The digital wallet barely scrapes the surface of what Apple's device could be. Imagine the scroll wheel, a color LCD and a lot more ACTIVE functionality. This will not be a storage device for your digital camera. This will be a way for you to share …

Forget PowerPoint presentations. Focus back on the digital hub idea; iPhoto library syncing. As with the iPod, everyone wanted it to do too many things at once; be too many devices all rolled into one. This "MediaPod" will be a level above the iP…

I'll be the first to admit I got duped. allenmcjones seemed like the real deal. Silly me for even being a part of this thread. The rendering he promised still has not surfaced.

Back to the GOOD STUFF! Where is that rendering of "Lucida"?!?!?!?!
-
A sphere! allenmcjones said Lucida would be water proof. He said when we see it, we'll understand why. And wouldn't a ball shaped camera (not a disk like the photo posted here) be easy to hold and use? The thing is going to be shaped like one of …

I'm so torn about knowing more about Lucida. I was fanatical when the new iMac was rumored to exist and eagerly looked at the first images posted at Time Canada. But in the end I was disappointed when Steve did the big unveiling the next day because…
