  • I guess I'm suggesting my ideas from a marketing stand-point. Look at the new mini. It's not THAT much smaller than the current iPods. Maybe it could have been - would have been - the NEW iPod design, if there were drives that small with big enough …

  • Idea for the 20th Anniversary Mac: the smallest Mac ever.

  • Apple was selling (or perhaps still is) iPods with special graphics etched on the back. I don't think these were for sale directly from Apple's site. You had to link over from another site like "Madonna.com" or others. But I'm pretty sure one of the…
  • Don't get your hopes up. By posting this hope (wish, dream) of yours, you've basically guaranteed that it will not happen before what seems like a VERY unreasonable period of time for the entire Mac community has gone by. I'd say no G5s in iMacs unt…

  • G5 PowerBooks are probably at least 1 year away. Don't hold your breath.
  • It DOES look like Harry Shearer, with his contemporary, graying, curly hair look. Very curious.
  • Wait!!!! That's it!!! The iSight will evetually be able to connect (via FireWire) to a recording unit that can be held in the hand or clipped to ones belt! It's so obvious now. It will be more than just a web-cam. Imagine some hard disk based unit t…
  • The Creatures are head-phone jack based. The Harmon-Kardon Sound Sticks are USB based. So was the iSub, which seems to be discontinued. It showed up as a separate, connected speaker in the Mac OS Sound panel, where you adjust it's level. Not sure if…
  • Apple will NOT water down the iPod into some kind of "mini" version. How focused is Rio releasing 7 (!?) new MP3 players? Doesn't that seem excessive? Apple will keep it simple.
  • Thanks Brad. I thought this might have been discussed, but was not sure what words to use to search for.
  • Thoughts on USB 2: Unlike Firewire 800, isn't the USB 2 plug the same as USB 1. The whole thing is controlled by software and the CPU, so the Mac keyboard is probably just as compatible with the newer USB as it was with the old.
  • The Airport Antenna is visible in a couple of the photos. It is T shaped... a rod sticking straight out of the back of the computer about, 4 inches long, with a flat, horizontal "wing" at the end.
  • I say it was a controlled leak, to get more buzz going. Notice that no photo was realeased. Why the only specs... because to Apple, it's the looks more than the tech specs. that will set this thing apart. The tech specs are all mostly catch-up to th…
  • 1 Gig of RAM!!!! I hope this isn't bloatware!
  • Well, I stand corrected on some of the issues brought up regarding my other post. Resolution and other digital camera features aside, the photos still don't seem to be of a real product. They seem to be staged spy photos. I say this because if the p…

  • The ring on the Kensington device is different than Apple's proposed scroll-wheel mouse. First, the Kensington thing was a track-ball, not a mouse. Second, Apple's seems to be hinting at OS/GUI improvements or features that will integrate with this …
