March 2015 StatCounter.com data has iOS at 22% and Mac OS X at 11.8% this month (higher than last month 21.38% and 10.8% or about 1/3rd Apple. I think the most interesting stat is Windows is now now less than 50% (assuming March stats hold up).

I imagine there is a lot of restricted air space around Washington DC.

They are comparing this year's season spike to the prior year's seasonal spike and it is higher across the board except Japan. Japan last year numbers were insane at 69% but DoCoMo was new to iPhone and happens to be Japan's largest carrier. Chi…

The data is good news but the article makes it sounds like Oct 2014 was the end of the quarter. It was not. The iPhone launched with 12 days left in the quarter in September. The data represents 3 months of data (August, September, October) so it …

I think you guys are missing the point of the commercial. They are not targeting iPhone users. They are targeting current android users who are use to the need for spare batteries and telling them that they will have a problem with the iPhone. Th…

It looks like the OS wars are being taken to the next level.

I doubt he is correct. Mixpanel has iPhone 5s going from 14.1% to 21.56% of iPhone's in use during 1st quarter, iPhone 5c going from 4.93% to 6.71%. That works out to a ratio of 4.2 new iPhone 5s to every iPhone 5c. His ratio is 17.75. I think I…

And how is this different than Sammy's "benchmark booster" for which we gleefully derided the company? I will assume you are asking a serious question. Because the Turbo Boost feature is available to all software and therefore is a reasonable tool…

China is looking like Japan. The upstarts that are selling the iPhone are gaining market share. The "we are so big that we do not need the iPhone" group is losing ground. It will be interesting to see how long DoCoMo and China Mobile hold out.

I like to look at statcounter since it has a worldwide view of tablets as well as a regional view. Looking at iOS vs Android for the World and comparing December 2012 to June 2013 (1st 2 quarters), iOS went from 3.28 to 4.16% (or a gain of .88%). A…
