I've researched this some and the article is effectively correct though biased. Apple TV is probably the cheapest option, if you want something that plays nice with your Macs and you aren't concerned about how underpowered the hardware is. The be…

This would actually be an excellent fit for Apple, but the up front costs would probably be too high for Apple to jump on. It would free Apple from their dependency on Google, give Apple a massive (and social) userbase, and also a considerable numb…

Apparently one of the reasons Microsoft is interested is because Yahoo has more registered users than Google. Hope Microsoft realizes that I'll cancel my account with Yahoo if they take over.

There's nothing wrong with either one of the shareholder proposals. The exec compensation one is non-binding, so it's merely a threat of a vote of non-confidence should executive compensation get out of hand. The Board Committee on Sustainabilit…

If Apple wants to sell more iPhones, I'd start selling an unlocked iPhone for slightly more $$$ rather than worrying about what the iPod touch is doing to the iPhone's sales. If I could buy an iPhone and try it out as an iPod touch first, then ma…

I'll be interesting to see what happens if someone goes for one of these here at work. Last I asked, they wouldn't allow a USB => Ethernet dongle on the network, and you can't access our internal network without a wired connection.

I already posted this in another thread, but I believe the charge is because Apple probably has to pay licensing fees to the content providers for the maps, weather, stocks apps. I doubt Google just lets you have their Mobile Maps app for free. If y…

If I had to guess, the 1.8" drive is going to be horrendously slow (I mean like night and day difference). Unfortunately, there isn't a go between option ... I was really hoping they'd include both a small 4-8GB flash drive for the OS and then the m…

If Apple had upped the specs on this to handle 1080p playback and/or opened it up to developers, I'd be interested ... as it is, I'm leaning toward getting a PlayStation III for media playback. That said, these improvements should boost Apple TV …

I suspect the Google map, weather, stocks apps all have licensing fees associated with them that go to the content providers. That's probably what you're paying for.
