When Steve Jobs was presenting the idea of an Apple laptop to its board, back in 1985, he called it a BookMac, according to "Apple Confidential", by O. Linzmayer.

Yes, it cuts hard to see this. Minolta says that it is going to concentrate on its imaging business. I wish them well in that. I am thinking about going out and buying a Minolta anyway. The report I read(on dpreview) said that the camera making …

Yes, that is what I was thinking. The second idea you have there, a more powerful Mac Mini, BTO, it would not displace the iMac, it would provide for those who already have an Apple 20 or 23 inch display, or another good display. So Apple can …

Well, there is the original Mac Mini, and there is the 2005 edition. I found the users manual for them, and downloaded, but they do not contain the specs. I have not found the right way to find the specs on Apple's site. Time to go to EveryMac. …

The Mini has an elegant form, and would be a fetching advertising model, alongside a bigger display. It deserves to be able to be a more powerful Mac, at least as an option. It will not detract from the iMac, which has pretty good value. Right no…

Regarding Apple, it is profit taking, for one thing, I think. Also, Apple was conservative in its estimates. So what? Actually, if one must analyse the market's behaviour, one may think that this scenario will see Apple stock give some ground bac…

Oh, I am in a small business, and so marketing and advertising is something that one has contact with. A quality product and a good reputation are something that are important, and you also must present yourself well. Macintosh is still used, an…

Quote: Originally posted by THT You guys are pretty optimistic, unrealistically so. I thought my 1.6 Pentium M prediction was optimistic! If the $499 Mac mini is to be updated in 1H 06, it has to be a Celeron-M, which is really just the 1 MB L…

Thats not bad at all, JD. That is pretty good. I would bet Apple would sell a whole lot of those. I don't know where it all would fit in to Apple's pricing and all that, but those two ideas of economy and a higher end are pretty good ideas. I d…

Something like what you just said here, itsme. It will need to start out with lower power than the iMac and (power)Mac Book, and perhaps top out at their beginning level, to fit in to the place Apple has had for it, pricewise. Less graphics power …

Such a beautiful little Mac should really have the option for more power than it does now. Good for switching, but I wish that it could be built into a more powerful little half cube.
