sure they will use the devices serial numbers to track them all down as soon as they emerge online...thus being able to take down the whole logistics pipeline.

so long green screen. wow. wish this was for FaceTime!

if apple is smart, they'll only use the camera for local image recognition, and not enable photos or video recording for their initial headsets...no need to make it seem like it's just an always on camera when there's far more they can accomplish vi…

I think calling it a half way point is a good description. The features are cool and cutting edge. But it will take a few more years to fully realize their potential in software and use cases. Also, at ~$1,500 including decent storage, an Apple case…

odd that he directs the development of the Apple Watch in addition to overseeing operations. don't get me wrong, I think he's done a great job with the Apple Watch, but just seems like a full time job within itself.

would be awesome if they would release a miniaturized version of iPhone X in a year or two, something the size of the SE but with the full frontal screen.
-
pricing and ports probably has something to do with this, but it could also be that apple fans are spending their apple money on iPad Pros and iPhone 8/X and holding onto their laptops a bit longer.

was just out in Phoenix a couple weeks ago...every 1-2 minutes I saw an autonomous car drive by (with backup driver), mostly Uber branded cars. there must have been hundreds of cars within a few square miles.

Apple gains a lot with an ARM chip in Macs. Better vertical integration, better development timelines, custom features, better costs, etc. But users would hopefully also get better battery life and a better performance improvement roadmap.

I could see the MacBooks move to ARM processors. Apple native apps will run out of the box and 3rd party iOS apps could be adapted, allowing their core code to run as is but with refreshed UI and UX front ends. MSFT already has ARM compatible versio…

maybe will run OS + Apple Apps on ARM for reduced power draw initially while having an intel chip for other apps. Companies will eventually WANT to optimize their code for the ARM chip because it will offer power and performance advantages over the …

better option is a super low bandwidth robust wifi/bluetooth mesh network framework that only apple can activate during an emergency when traditional services are down to spread messages and during an outage.

having tried all the major services, Apple Music isn't necessarily the best, but if you're in the apple ecosystem, it's the most integrated, the most convenient, so I'm planning to return to Apple Music sometime this yr (been using Tidal and very ha…

first gen Apple Watch owner here...nice to see the incremental improvements. wrt the authors question on the length of the lifecycle of the Apple Watch, mine is now 2 yrs old and I feel zero desire to upgrade and very minimal feature envy wrt the ne…

No way are they throttling production to be cautious...apple understands this phone will be supply constrained for quite awhile...probably just positive spin on any production issues if they exist.

Seems awkwardly larger and less ergonomic than some competing options (i.e. Satechi) which work well from experience and are about 1/3 the size. Wish the 4K resolution on all these adaptors was better than 30hz.

I jungmark said: I thought the X was too expensive to buy? Which is it, analysts? Too expensive or too much demand? It's too expensive and there's too much demand. The perfect combination for Apple. It's $1400 out the door with Apple c…

pretty solid deal on AT&T, but who has TV service these days?

At $650 this would have been a killer phone. At $1150 (bc who wants to spend $999 to get a 64GB phone) it's a bit absurd. Add a case for $50 and 7% tax and Apple care and it's a $1400 phone!!!!!!!!!
