  • Quote: It may be, partly beacuse G6 dosnt have the same market appeal and ring that G3, G4, and G5 did. Well, Pontiac thought "G6" sounded good enough to use it as a model name. Maybe Apple won't use G6 for that reason alone. Gotta avoid those …
  • I would have never known that, what we me not having a printer and all.
  • I'm pretty sure you'll have to reset it. I mean, isn't that the purpose of the password? Check the documentation to see how to do it. I think it even tells you what to do if you forget the password. If I'm not mistaken, you may have to do a hard res…
  • I had a much easier time making a document with pictures using pages than I did with Word. Word and its autoformat are a huge pain. I also like having the ability to export as PDF.
  • Quote: 3. I can see Apple doing the "Intel jingle" in their TV ads tho. That sounds so Dell, I know... but my gut feeling is they'll play it. Maybe. From what I understand, Intel actually pays for an OEMs advertisement, so long as they mention I…
  • heh, I do have an old 540mb Maxtor laying around. I don't use it anymore, but AFAIK, it still works. At least it did when I used it last.
  • Here's the link: http://www.hitachigst.com/portal/sit...703e3aac4f0a0/ It's the 40MB model, standard 2.5" notebook drive. The form factor is identical to all other notebook drives I've seen. Oh yeah, I bought it in either February or March,…
  • Here's a couple I've used recently. Just a blue sky A recent image of my Sago Palm Taken by an amateur.
  • I'll take your word for it!
  • Anyone want another Hitachi drive? I bought a 40GB Hitachi 2.5" 7200RPM 8mb mobile drive for my Mini, but I pulled it back out when I sold the mini. Now it just sits beside my desk as a relatively expensive paper weight. \ PM me if you're curious.
  • eh, I use newegg.com or zipzoomfly.com. Both have the best prices and ship ASAP. For my PM, I bought a Corsair XMS dual channel kit (2-3-3-6). When I plopped it in, I checked out the RAM that Apple installed, and it's nothing special. I can't rememb…

  • skatman, Hmm, I have read otherwise in a few places. \
  • miggs97, I was wondering why that is. The semicolon is definitely a PITA, since all of my spreadsheets were done on Excel 2000 at work. Why did they change the usage? Was it a MS copyright thing?

  • I'd say the G4, if only for upgrade possibilities. If I'm not mistaken, you can upgrade the CPU to a faster G4, and you could get a much better PCI graphics card as well (Like the ATI 9000pro). The iMac is much more limited on options, IMO.
  • There is no "4.0ghz barrier." If you check the OCer's databases, many have gotten their P4s well past 4.0ghz. However, Intel ran into some serious thermal issues with netburst, so they aren't planning to release anything greater than 4.0ghz down the…
  • Make sure you use "WPA personal" encryption on your network. Many use WEP, which an older, easier to hack protocol. Also, if you can, hide your SSID name. If people can't even see your wireless network, you're less likely to be leeched or hacked. Wi…
  • Currently, I can't get IF statements to work properly in NeoOffice. I don't understand why, but if I enter them exactly as I do in Excel, they don't do calculate correctly. Excel has no problems. \ Also, NeoOffice needs help starting up. Even on …

  • Here you go: http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Leopard Quote: Originally, it was thought that a Leopard was a hybrid between a Lion and a Panther, and the Leopard's common name derives from this belief; leo is the Latin for lion, and par…
  • newegg.com sells stuff cheap and delivers fast. I used pretty generic RAM in my iBook and don't have any trouble.
  • franksargent, You are one rude individual. FYI, I'm not a democrat, but I do kinda look like Date Letterman. However, maybe you shouldn't character assassinate every person who disagrees with you, especially over a PC. You have had good experiences…
