I want background apps - the main use I'd really like is an app that tracks my phone and plots it on a map. There's other odd things that would be useful too, and not possible with push. I can see why Push makes sense, I know the technical reasons, …

I'd say we're 5-10 years off having real unshackled 'pay-per-packet' phones. The phone companies are so used to being able to charge massive amounts for 'special' tiny bits of data (SMS) and voice that it's going to take government regulation to wea…

I rarely sync my iPhone with my computer, so being tied to having iTunes on my computer doesn't really make sense...

Combined with a passcode this could work... I think it's be a fine balance between setting it off by accident and having it not work at all..

Oh I certainly agree patents are broken, it's just these threads do end up being somewhat predictable. That said, I guess complaining is the only way anything is going to change. Well, that or a revolution or something...

Here we go with the endless 'patents are broken' comments etc etc...

I think people should realise by now that Apple will generally do what people want, they'll just take 3x longer than anyone expects to do it. Patience!

The redesign doesn't bother me particularily, I like the idea. But: They could have put more buttons on the remote - it would have made things easier. They could alo have put buttons on the shuffle itself - perhaps along it's sides (rather tha…

iTunes as it is, is slow quite a lot of the time. Not massively so, but clicking on almost anything will make it takes a second or so to respond... So, it'll be good to have some more snappyness.

Maybe Apple could do something artificial like increasing their percentage cut for very cheap apps, that would force the prices higher... Not suggesting that's a good idea, but it's one thing they could do. Highly unlikely though.

London hasn't banned plastic bags, I'm not sure where you got that from. It's been discussed a few times, nothing more. As far as I know, nowhere in the UK has, Ireland has though...

BBC iPlayer doesn't have an app - it just works through the BBC iPlayer website. The reason iPlayer content isn't available internationally is partly the rights issues, and partly because the BBC doesn't do advertising so they'd probably have to …

Absolutely no way that the scroll bar will be hidden until you mouse over it. That breaks it's functionality. You'd move your mouse over it then have to move it to find the draggable bar itself, rather than moving straight to where the bar is...

The one adavantage of the move to DisplayPort is that we know that Apple are going to have to either update or discontinue the Mac Mini soon...
