I just came back from Japan and visited the Ginza Apple Store. Very active and busy. But looking at the computer offerings, they do seem somewhat out of sync with what Japanese people like. Apple notebooks don't have TV tuners, are big by their stan…

Who needs who more? Does Taiwan need Apple more than Apple needs Taiwan, or vice versa?
-
Yeah, this is quite baffling. But the political comments are quite uncalled for.

Harsh opening line for the article... makes me wonder if any MS websites do the same when the latest Windows/OSX sales data comes in.

The Hi-Fi (which I own) is an excellent speaker product, but the size and price of the thing precludes of from being truly mass-market. The Hi-Fi mini product concept would probably be popular with the masses, though.

The Stonestown one is just a small, one floor store. The one in Burlingame is a bit bigger.
-
How many floors is the London one? And the NYC ones? The Tokyo Ginza one is 5 floors IIRC. One of the floors is a Mac demonstration theatre.

Japan would destroy Apple's ambitions of getting into gaming. I guarantee it. Even the iPod isn't doing anything special in terms of performance there. The DS Lite there runs circles around it dozens of times in terms of handheld gadget popularity. …

Ed's right though, even if the expectation in and of itself is unreasonable. Apple isn't going to make the end-all, be-all cellphone on day one. It didn't even happen with the iPod and mp3 players in general. Apple will make a competent product with…

I can't imagine the black nano being popular with females. Most of the girls I know that picked up minis and the new nano opted for bright colors like green, blue and pink. If Apple released black in 4GB and the other colors in 8GB, then I think the…

I hope Japan Airlines offers this soon. JAL offers DS Lite systems to executive class passengers, so it'll be nice to have iPod docks on that airline.

Nice updates. I own the first gen MacBook, but don't feel really bad about not having a Core 2 Duo.
-
Hmm. I had a first gen shuffle but it occurred to me that I never did try to use that with two computers. I'll just have to transfer a few songs to my desktop then and redo it. Good thing my laptop's library isn't that big.

No more iTV for me. I own a 360 (and I'm going to buy a Japanese 360 soon as well) and I'm more comfortable with the Xbox's plan (I'm more of a videogame fan than an Apple fan, though).

I just bought one today and wasn't feeling the shuffle, contemplating just returning it while paying the restocking fee. This bit of news makes me all the more likely to return it because I tried putting it in my minipocket and sitting down does exe…

All I want's a MacBook Mini.

I'm flying United Business to Japan this January, so this is sure to come in handy. I can type up files, watch movies or such while waiting for the long flight to end (9 hours). Airline websites list amenities for travel, including power ports. …

The Japanese have a knack for buying their own products, but it doesn't mean they'll exclusively by Japanese electronics. I don't think most Japanese have the space for something like a Mac Pro, and their latest laptops are a bit big for Japanese st…

My MacBook was repaired just about two weeks ago and I was lucky and got mine back within a week. They even replaced the top case which showed some discoloration. Still working like a champion so far, but I'm very worried now that I'm hearing of rep…

I think someone needs to proofread the article. There are a few punctuation errors and missing words.
