have you tried it with all your firewalls disabled? XP SP2 has a firewall enabled by default. Check both machines though and see if your just being blocked by that.

yes i did try software update. its one of the first things i tried but it didnt work. i have reinstalled the os over itself and that has fixed my problem. i only had to reinstall like 2 prgms. all my other files were still there. pretty nice. scary…

yea, i uninstalled the Quicktime player app. Also, i already tried installing the Quicktime player 7, and it said it was for panther only. which doesnt make sense.

depends what router ur on. if ur on a linksys then goto http://192.168.1.1 but if its nethign else im not really sure. if its an airport base station, then there is an admin utility in ur Applications/Utilities folder. you can try that. as for what …

yea thats true. you should try resetting the router and see if that helps. just unplug it, wait about 30sec, then plug it back in. see if that helps at all
