Do you guys fact check beforehand? As per the teardown of the 12.9 pro, it contains a separate USB 3 controller chip, a Fresco Logic FL1100SX 2-port USB 3.0 Host Controller. In other words, USB 3 is not built into the A9X as Appleinsider claims.
