Ok. Good points made by all. Does the options market point to AAPL going anywhere meaningful in the near future. AAPL has made moves in the past despite this environment.

We've heard that AAPL options are what makes so much money and perhaps is the reason for a lot of the pain felt by the long shareholders. I am asking how did it become this way? I don't know much at all about options but what has enabled such a stro…

Say what you will but I think he has a bright future in politics down the road.

I thought for sure I'd be the 1st to mention the mulleted man...well the 1st to say mullet at least ????

Stock up in a big way right off the open!! Fingers crossed that the market can't find its other shoe.

The report makes sense and taken on its face is a positive catalyst for the stock.

BTW, best of luck to the longs today. I'm holding my shares and am cautiously optimistic.

I second the idea of no guidance, less things to pick at. Side note: I remember the last time AAPL crept over the 18.0 p/e threshold USA Today came out with some article specifically talking about how Apple can't break this 18.2-3 hurdle. Sure enoug…

USA Today headline reads that "Apple lost millions of subscribers" in reference to this announcement...Media slant is pretty heavy-handed these days.

The 6.5M number is pretty good. The first number Cue threw out was 11M people in the trial period awhile back.

The 7-for-1 split was meant to reduce volatility IIRC.

WRT the Cap. Return program have they said what breakdown each side will be? Could they change the ratio of dividend/buyback without freaking the market out? Imagine the blowback if they press release that little nugget.

Now this is a good topic and thread!

IDK Since AAPL is the biggest market cap all bets are off I suppose as this is new territory in some respects. I've mentioned this before but the stock has relatively low institutional ownership and it would make sense if that number climbed steadil…

Sometimes I think that AAPL will never have a meaningful break out. Anytime good news is announced it is tempered with negative spin and FUD. This cycle could really just repeat over and over. It makes being long AAPL seem like running in place.
