Quote: Originally posted by lundy I don't know why people don't just use the column view, in which the parent folder is right there on the left, staring you in the face, but... if one wanted to script this, all you have to do is put this scrip…

I've never used automator, so forgive my ignorance on its abilities, but shouldn't something like "move to parent" (grandparent...as far back as you want) be a trivial exercise for any user to construct?

A file name (and path) is just another type of meta data. If the file extension was completely invisible to the user (and not a solution Mac users criticized for years), I don't imagine it would even be much of a complaint. It's a three character, p…

I love the idea of installing OS X on generic peecees. For one thing, there are a lot of nerds who love PCs for playing video games, but occasionally will get bored with that and dual boot Linux to play around. A Mac for them is simply ridiculous; i…

There is one thing I definitely wish they had kept from the previous interface. Since you can drag anything "metal" on the window, you could grab the left or right edge of the iTunes 4 window and drag it all OS 8 style. I'm not sure I like the sourc…

I hope Wal-Mart is or will be selling the Apple iPods. I know they have HP ones, but last I knew that was it. The difference from my mother's 10% employee discount would have been a great encouragement for me to buy an iPod if I happened to come in …
