Huh, I didn't know it was called that, but that's exactly what my iPad Pro 12.9 2nd gen recently developed. Very annoying, will have to get it fixed.

Does it do watermarks?

Typo in title: JohnS Hopkins.

"For users who already have more than three devices linked to an account before the change in policy Dropbox advises the hardware will still be linked to the account" = you can keep syncing all devices you already have, even if that's more than 3.

Errr, it works fine on iPad if you use "request desktop site" in Safari. At least it does on my 12.9" Pro. Edit: ah, Denis beat me by a couple of minutes with the same info.

To see how much space you could save, use this in Terminal: du -d0 -h ~/Library/Application\ Support/MobileSync/Backup (edit) Top Tip I just thought of: I have a Lightning cable hanging off my Mac permanently, I should probably tag it it with …

Mike Wuerthele said: It shouldn't crash. It'll probably give you an error, and break the symlink, forcing a re-do of the terminal entries above. I (also;)) haven't tested it but what happened to me in a similar situation (a self-made scr…

"For third-party developers like Tapbots, however, access to the Account Activity API is cost prohibitive." -- Yeah. Twitter's "Premium Account Activity API Package" is a joke with allowing a maximum of 250 accounts for a subscription price of $2899…

Was hoping to read in the article that "What can I help you with?" might be personalised for me as "How may I help you?" ... But seriously, I would love a formality setting.

Picking up Mike from the ashes of MacNN is the best thing AppleInsider, formerly a fanboi site, has done.

I didn’t know about ditto. The man page doesn’t explain how the merge works; only by file modification time? I use “rsync -auv folder1/ folder2/“ for that, but rsync has lots of other options for tuning the merging criteria.

I thought you guys had this article before? My 32-bit apps of note: MPEG Streamclip, QuickTime Player 7, TextWrangler, VideoSpec, XLD.

MacUpdate had a good run but it definitely ended when he sold out in 2015. To be fair, that's probably the only thing he sold; hard to earn money from a free download index site.

Useful addition for those daunted by typing that Terminal command letter-by-letter: you can use Tab to auto-complete every part of the location. For instance, type /A and Tab and it will say /Applications/. Sometimes you need a few extra letters to …

For me the old video/audio work horses: QuickTime Player 7, MPEG Streamclip, VideoSpec, XLD. Of those, I think only XLD is still in active development. And Google Earth Pro, TextWrangler, Toast 9, all sorts of Adobe/Creative Cloud managers/update…

Hey Apple, how about you also patch your other major, supposedly supported, OS: macOS 10.12 Sierra.

Well, I checked AMS Schiphol and it does sorta list the shops but with no outlines it is hardly useful as an indoor map: https://i.imgur.com/SflMoMA.png
