Is this even news? Does Steve ever not do the keynote when it's held in SF?

Is it my imagination or does Intel come up with new/faster processors every few months? It seems every other week, I read something about new chips from Intel that can be used in Macs. I hate to say it but it looks like Apple should have jumped to…

limekiln: Check out HP's L2335. It got a better rating than Apples 23" monitor and it's cheaper than ever these days. Plus, it can pivot from portrait to landscape orientation. http://www.macworld.com/2005/02/revi...hlcd/index.php

Garage Band is greedy space wise too. I have no use for it and deleted it.

May I ask how long you've been using your current Mac?
-
I have nice Macbook, but my old G4 from 1999 is feeling very dated. I’m looking for a new desktop and like this iMac but I think it’s way too expensive. A new iMac with 2gigs of Ram, 500HD, a fast processor is $2600. A similarly configured Mac …

By their very nature you're not really going to hear from happy customers ono message boards... they are too busy being productive/playing games to be posting "happy" notes on message boards.

At this point, why is Apple giving away iTunes to Windows users? They should charge them a $10 fee to upgrade to iTunes 7 and for future updates as well. Consider it a Windows tax; the price you pay for not having a Mac.

I like all things Apple, but I think a movie download service (be it from Apple, Amazon, or anyone else) is a less than necessary idea given the cost and current alternatives. Why go to the time and expense ($9.99, $12,99, or $14.99) to buy one n…

The title of this article is curious: Apple to repair shutdown-plagued MacBooks under warranty. Is there really another option in this situation? I don't think so. The product is only a few months old and it comes with a one year warranty, ergo t…

I thought to do that but i don't think it would be very evident in a photo. It's a subtle thing but i think it's one you will notice if if it is happening to your MB.

True enough, but if dutchboy really NEEDS a faster drive then maybe the MB isn?t really the machine for him.
-
Why not just buy the MB with the size drive you want? My feeling is that buying a new MB and immediately swapping out the hard drive is an invitation to trouble… Sure it looks like a simple swap, but so many things could go wrong. Is saving a few…

For what it?s worth, I think new displays are coming too. When? Who can say, but anyone who has watched product cycles over the years, can see the pattern. Here?s a question: what would you want in a new apple monitor? Bigger display and lower…

I'm trying this on a Macbook with 2 gigs of RAM. Once I press the start button I get an error message that says "this startup disk will not work on this Maintosh model. use the latest Installer to update this disk for this model." What now? …

Three weeks after dropping my Macbook off at an Apple store for repair/replacement I got it back today. According to the service papers this is what they did to it: Product serviced by replacing the following: App-603-8071 Assy, Heatsink, M42…

That's a nice idea but I think it's silly. The Macbooks at retail stores come from the same place that your BTO unit will come from. As I've said previously, when you built a million units of anything several hundred--if not thousands--are going…

There have been other individual reviews since this one... but you might want to read it nonetheless. http://www.macworld.com/2005/02/revi...hlcd/index.php
