Although the systems do get faster, the difference is not enough to make the previous processor obsolete. We still have 500 Mhz G4 systems from 1999-2000 running 10.4.9 almost as well as the newer intel machines. I mean sure, there is a noticeable d…

Quote: Server Admin has needed a stable front end since it's inception. What seemed ridiculous was having to go down to command line and change host records because of limitations in the GUI. Why is there a GUI for a service even present if it can'…

Quote: So what's this about Windows Support in Leopard? AppleInsider said that with a great deal of confidence. I think they're talking about Boot Camp. Quote: Interesting how they say that 10.4.9 will be "one of the last". I don't really ex…

Quote: Why would they do that. None of the Airports have ever had hard drives in them. You're talking about Apple charging $50 more for this product but how is that possible. Apple TV has HDMI which requires licensing 40GB hard drive which…

This is one of the lamest products I've seen from Apple in a while. I would like to have seen it marketed as 'Airport Extreme Video' with a slightly higher ($50 more) price than Airport Extreme (which is overpriced itself IMHO). Then it would have s…

I agree. Bad idea. I could see the iTv being compatible with iPod games and imporvements to iPod gaming (such as previously rumored gyroscopes, etc.), but I don't even think mac-faithful would be interested in an Apple PlayStation/XBox.

Quote: I can easily envision a system in which the iTV is the user interface control and from it is strung (via firewire and/or LAN) devices like DVRs, tuners, DVD (SD, HD, BD) players, and other entertainment devices. The iTV provides the connecti…

This thing has all the potential in the world. My guess is that this wouldn't completely replace the current iPods unless (or until) they don't sell anymore. As for the random input problem when picking up the device, I think one could either use…

While iCal is somewhat useful, I never used it and never cared. I always thought that it needed network capabilities beyond 'publish' and now it seems that it will. The auto-schedule feature sounds really cool. This could be a huge improvement over …

It's been a long time since I used them, but it used to be that the discussions were the ONLY way to get support on most issues for me. Answers came from other users as much as moderators and it was all very helpful. I guess things have changed sinc…

Johnnys have great ideas, Johnny Mozzarella. I like the iHealth idea a lot better than Nike+. They could sell the different sensors/meters seperately or as a package. That way, you could choose if you just want, for example, a blood sugar meter. …

Quote: 50 Cent told the publication. "I never got into it for the music. I got into it for the business." I think it's a great idea if it were truly affordable, but I can't help but think this would benefit 50 cent and Apple more than inner-city…

No problems with my MacBook. I've run it hard for hours and sure it got hot, but no more than any other portable.

This is about as exciting as the original U2 iPod. Releasing it a second time is the lamest thing I've ever seen from Apple. I would imagine anyone who really cares about having a U2 iPod bought one the first time; Are these people actually ready an…

The problem here, that I fell into myself at first, is that the article is vague on the actual implementation of this advertisement. After reading a more informative article on the subject, I found that it is, as others have mentioned, only podcasts…

Ads in the music store would be fine... Ads while accessing my personal library would be enough to piss me off, but probably not to make me stop using iTunes unless it severely limits room for the interface or is too flashy... Ads on my iPod (or ads…

I don't know Steve, I think eventually you'll have to allow variable pricing if that is what record companies want. Even if you get them to agree to keep 99¢ pricing this time, I don't think it can possibly last forever. Personally, I see it both wa…

On my PowerPC the update was 45.3 MB. On an Intel Mac Mini it was 160+ MB. Obviously a good portion of the update was Intel/Rosetta realted.
