I didn't really understand that. It sounded like you were saying the powerbook battery doesn't last any longer that 5-10 minutes, but then you said it lasted for 2 hours. Anyway depending on the age of your powerbook you might just need to buy a n…

The only suggestion that springs to mind wrt to those CDs is to try checking that they are dirty or scratched... But I'm sure you have already done that. I don't have a macbook, but the drive on my mac mini has never displayed this type of behavio…

sometimes problems with applications can be solved simply by deleting a preference file. As a new mac user you should get acquainted with the folders that contain the pref files. They are under your account library at: /users/[accountname]/library…

Yes. For some reason itunes 7 is way slower to launch than itunes 6. I'm not very impressed. I've noticed the visualiser is running at a very low framerate compared with the previous version as well.

its possible, but only by installing saft. Google saft and safari and you'll find it. It adds a lot of fuctionality to safari, and lets you change the skin from the brushed metal. With saft installed, safari is the best browser out there on any p…

I predict that people will be too embarrassed to buy this. Imagine turning up to work or to school with a Zune!

a few critical nitpicks with the zune's design: 1) The controls are too far down. If you hold an iPod with one hand, the scrollwheel is in exactly the right place for your thumb. Just imgaine right now holding that thing, and now imagine the str…

I personally hope this product flops and Apple realise they should be spending more time on their macintosh range. Maybe I just have something against TV.

if you want a fast cheap mac go for the dual 1.4 multi drive door mac with big L3 cache its pretty darn fast and u can put a decent graphics card in it.

I can't believe apple is embracing TV like this. They are supposed to be about creativity and productivity. Then again, this goes back to the iPod. Apple have been a different company since the iPod phenomenon.

I just couldn't give a crap about this product. I personally have no use for it.

I like the scroll bars but I don't like the buttons. Personally I'm a fan of the Mail UI. I wish there was an easy way to manually skin the whole system with this look (like how saft allows you to skin safari with a similar look). Take the look o…

Mac Pro probably is that much faster. However, I would not trust geekbench particularly. Barefeats is the best mac benchmark site.

apple should do an aqua build of openoffice, tidy up the printing dialogues and include it on all new macs. Gimpshop could also be included.

you are using different aspect ratios. Always try and preserve the aspect ratio and frame rate of the source. Using imovie you might want to use custom settings to get the best possible quality.

office 2004 kicks ass. there is openoffice as well for excel type spreadsheet. Office 2004 is very good though I would recommend it. Most powerful office suite out there.

Oh, they'll keep finder I'm sure. Spotlight should never be considered a "replacement" for finder. I use quicksilver a fair amount these days, but even that cannot replace finder completely, and nor should it.
