That is a very old mod... http://forums.appleinsider.com/showt...threadid=35270 This one is a bit newer: http://forums.appleinsider.com/showt...threadid=40961 Slot-loading iMac in a custom-designed miniature G5 tower case.

Well, yes, an iSub would help, but the speakers are still inside the eMac and might still cause distortion. Has anyone actually tried this? I'm curious - normally I'd say just buy a $40 speaker set instead of a $40 iSub, but maybe it'll work fine.

Yes, but history has shown us that Apple is opposed to putting dual processors on their low end machine. At least the PowerMac has a number of advantages over the iMac other than the number of processors. The problem is when the low end PowerMac …

The eMac speakers will only be good when they're set to a low volume. As soon as your music gets medium-loud, they'll make the screen get all wavy. They're really only good if you have to move the eMac from place to place - in that case, having inte…

Uh.... no? The iBook will NOT give him a "substantial degree of power." Unfortunately, the cheapest good G5 (dual 1.8 GHz) is CA$3200, even with educational discount. The single 1.6 GHz is kind of dumb, and you'd be better off with the dual 1.25 GHz…

"Hey, Chris, have you got the digital interweb calibration settings on this here camera corrected properly? How do I work this thing? *SNAP* Okay, this one looks pretty good there... hey, where'd it go!? By golly... well you kids are late, better ge…

That's easy. I am very pessimistic about the iMac. Since it got that first price hike shortly after its introduction, it has been crappy. Ther have only been two major updates since the beginning of 2002. They brought the iMac from 800 MHz to 1.2…

Skip the floppy drive and get a USB flash drive if you need portable removable storage. They're way better... ten times faster, a hundred times the capacity, and much more reliable as well. Plus, they have better cross-platform compatibility than fl…

I have a 12" PowerBook. It is a 233 MHz Wallstreet G3. Good machine, great for OS 9.

Since you have a warranty you may as well try going into the Apple store and asking if you can get a replacement. Chances are you won't get one since it's only one pixel, but in many cases the location of the pixel is important in determining whethe…

Yes, the "1000 songs" claim on the original iPod is based on having 160 kbps bitrate and an average song length of 4 minutes. 1000 of them nearly fill the iPod's 5 billion byte capacity (technically, you can fit 1017 songs, 4 minutes each at 160 kbp…

Any collision in space would cause some chaos. What are you getting at?

No, partitioning doesn't help. The drive controller can only see 128 GB (about 137 billion bytes). A Firewire case for the drive will run you about $30-$40. Or you could get an ATA/100 or ATA/133 PCI card for about $50 to allow you to install the…
