Writing the cache to disk sounds possible. Could it be defragging as well? Dobby.

To use Dynamic DNS you need client software that basically tells the Dynamic DNS server what you ip address is. The DDNS server will forward the requests to the new ip address. Dobby.

I use 200GB SATA drives from Seagate and Western Digital on both Mac and PC. They seem to be interchangable just like ATA. Dobby.

Dont forget this reboot feature only works when the kernel catches the panic. Often, if the kernel in on the cpu at the time of the freeze then it won't be able to do anything either. This is the reason some apple techs gave me. W2K and XP client…

We have a webbased catalogue builder that outputs data in XML. We then import the XML data into Indesign and build the catalogues without people touching them. Very fast and efficient. We also have 'creative' clients who change their minds every f'i…

What version of quack was it in. You can only open quark4 file in indesign. Our XML generated indesign CS files go from PC to Mac to PC with no problems. We converted the fonts we use on the pc to the pc and no problems so far. Dobby.

I've had this happen to 1 or 2 machines. Try unplugging the powercord and then starting it. Reseat memory, HD cables and motherbaord battery. Something to try. Dobby.

As bergz said use the built in firewall. Regarding antivirus stuff, If you have PC's on your network then you could run antivirus stuff for their benefit. Antivirus for mac is currently of little use for the mac itself as there are few real viruses…

Try MJM or BTinternet (or something). I've used mjm and they recovered the contents of a 60GB drive from a 15"powerbook that a Sales guy formatted while trying to run repair disk from a panther cd. I think it cost about 400 quid. Dobby.

Our photographer has a Canon 10D and a Lightphase H20. Even though the 10D has same or more megapixels the Lightphase produce far superior images. Can anyone explain why? Are mega pixels like Mhz myth? Dobby.
