  • [quote]Originally posted by jutus: Negative. You can press Command Shift 4 to take a shot of a selection, and Command Shift 3 to take of shot of your whole screen, but neither will work at the OS X login window. You hear MacOS X play the "cam…
  • [quote]Originally posted by alucard: Great! thanx for the extra info. I found it on my camcorder, and it has a small "i". The plug in looks very tiny but it does say iLink on it. This will allow me to directly connect to iMovie and copy my DV/D8 ta…
  • [quote]Originally posted by alucard: Thanx again for the help everyone . I have seen the Dazzle hardware at my local best buy. It looked to be the best out there, but at $319 i'm gonna have to wait. I do have a digital Sony camcorder (about 3 y…
  • [quote]Originally posted by alucard: First, sorry for the Mac thing (oops). Second, thanx for all the help. now my only problem is waiting the 3-5 weeks for delivery. One more questions if you don't mind. I have alot of VHS tapes that I would like …

  • Well, it looks to me like all you have to do is select Image->Burn Image... in Disk Copy. I haven't tried it, but I'd guess that it would work.
  • What do you mean, you can't download. Can you describe the problem a little more? Can you give me an example pagw that you can;t download from? As far as your download location, look in the Internet control panel. You can change that there.

  • Just curious, why use ASIP when you can run OS X Server?
  • Classic doesn't seem to make a difference for me. It won;t work either way.
  • What's so wrong with the BASIC language, and what does REALbasic do that's so similar?
  • Just wondering, have you tried it recently? Much has changed over a three year period since it was shareware.
  • [wow, 4 replies in a row!] Please, everyone, before we continue this discussion, if you haven't already done so, download the REALbasic demo and play with it for 5 minutes. I think you will be somewhat surprised at what you see.
  • [quote]Originally posted by Rick1138: I didn't have time to reply earlier, but RealBasic is too slow for any app that puts any serious demands on the processor, such as animated graphic apps,3d graphics, any type of scientific computing app,or any app…
  • [quote]Originally posted by AirSluf: And there are several things in any BASIC implementation that are just plain bad concepts for cranking out reliable code. BASIC had it's place 30 years ago, but today it does a newbie more harm than good in unl…
  • [quote]Originally posted by Brian J.: Well, I really don't want to start a flame war, but Basic is an inelegant, ugly language. And I don't like when IDEs automatically generate code. It's nice for trivial tasks, but it gets in the way when doi…
  • *Bump* Well, it looks like no one wants to touch this one with a 10 foot pole. Seriously, I think that REAlbasic has a very undeserved reputation of being slow and buggy, both of which it is not.
  • [quote]Originally posted by Rick1138: No,stay away from RealBasic,it's slow and buggy, and after learning it you'll still have to learn real languages,it's better to start directly by learning high powered languages. Could you elaborate please? …
