In China, just call it the iPod Plus and be done with it.

What can I say? I have the original Intel Core Duo-powered MacBook, and Lion needs at least a Core 2 Duo to install. But even if I could install Lion, I'm not sure that I would, since it can't run PPC code under Rosetta.

My spouse and I got our new iPhone 4S's this week, and I can tell you that Siri is amazing. I used it to dictate a short email message, and it was 100% accurate. We got haircuts last night, and afterwards we always schedule for the next time. I t…

We just bought an Apple TV (along with the latest AirPort Extreme router) last week, and it has been an absolute joy - the best $99 entertainment purchase we ever made (well, plus $8 a month for Netflix). The biggest problem I had was getting my ol…

You'd think that Apple and AT&T would have their shit together on this whole iPhone ordering process by now. You'd think... I got early and placed an order to upgrade my original iPhone (June of 2007), staying with AT&T. All went smooth…

Maybe that's why Apple named the iPhone 4S - kind of a shorthand tribute "for Steve."

A true industry giant and great humanitarian. He will be missed. RIP, Mr. Jobs.

Samsung is getting a first-hand example of what happens when they bite the hand that feeds it.

It's funny that this rumor came out today, for I was just discussing with my better half about how I'd like to upgrade from my 5+ year old Core Duo-powered MacBook to a Core 2 Duo or better product that would allow me to stay current with the upcomi…

I still have the original iPhone, which uses the long-in-the-tooth iOS 3.1.3. Apple never said anything about how many iPhone models contain this bug, or how far back they will update iOS to fix it.

Easy - a portable TelePrompTer. No empty suit should leave home without one!

So The One will visit The Man. One massive ego meets another. What, he wants Apple to come up with some sort of iHope&Change? November 2012 can't get here soon enough!

"The company currently operates 317 stores, 84 of which are outside the US." Er, if by "currently" you mean at the of the fiscal quarter, you are correct. If "currently" includes today, that number sits at 319.

I know it sounds all evil and everything, but if I choose to be a consumer of ad-supported apps, music, TV shows and what-have-you, I'd love it if I could better match things that I might remotely be interested in compared with the shotgun approach …

Have a first-gen MacBook 13" loaded with the full 2GB of RAM and a 250GB HD, and I used to run Microsoft Office v.X (which ran under Rosetta). When I updated to Snow Leopard, Office and darn near every other app I had that ran under Rosetta started…

I think that AI got their story from MarketWatch: "SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Apple Inc. (AAPL 265.40, -1.07, -0.40%) became the second-largest company, in terms of market capitalization, on the S&P 500 (SPX 1,209, +2.74, +0.23%) Thursd…

Yeah, I read that news story, but then I went to my Schwab investment page and looked up both companies, and it showed that AAPL was at 241.6B while MSFT was at 276.0B. What am I missing?

What about the argument that even if Flash were allowed on the iPad (and iPhone / iPod touch), that it might in many cases offer a "not what the designer intended" experience since there are no mouse-overs to trigger actions like there are with a ty…
