Actually I was using textedit and making .rtf files instead of plain text. A switch to BBEdit revealed that.

I wonder if Apple is considering using Gnumeric or something similar as a base?

They could put syncing in the apps that make sense, that is what I would like to see...

Frankly I would just buy Sonos, add in Quicktime video distribution, a digital audio out and call it a day and pretty much everyone would be happy.

He must have been a slow typer then Anyway, I don't think the cost would be insane, although I imagine you would see it as a replacement of the 12" Powerbook over the iBook, although I could be wrong. I think $2000 would be reasonable for an und…

There is no reason why we can't have a sub 3 pounder like the Panasonic W2 or Y2 with an optical drive...

Pages could be expanded into HTML pretty easily. When I saw the templates I totally thought CMS. Filemaker needs a makeover to go with the rest of iLife. Combine it with Pages for the CMS and you would have a very interesting software sweet. I think…

I wonder why they don't just go over to Myth and help them with a PC port?

How about a free single client version. I have 2 macs and would love to be able to control one from the other. Plus I want to eventually buy a third to run headless...

I think that the real answer is Steve Jobs is CEO of Pixar, a video media company, and not a RIAA company. He doesn't want what has happened in audio with MP3 to happen to video. He, at least, could be presented with conflicts of acting in good fait…

Frankly instead of just https support, how about a WebDAV engine that actually works well. The Apple implementation crawls. Hopefully, after many releases, Apple's Finder networking implementation will finally work well. They did build this on BSD d…

iBook- I think iPod mini colored aluminum enclosures for the iBooks along with thinning them out to make the current 12" Powerbook obsolete at 4 lbs. Release limited edition colors to generate revenue, or change the colors with generations. Power…

That is easy, go to lowendmac.com, see what the best deal is and subtract a couple of hundred dollars. That is the most I would pay from some random guy selling his computer versus from a dealer where I would have some recourse if I got screwed. …

It completely is an issue of Apple protecting their higher lines at the expense of market share. Take the base iMac at $1299 and lop off the monitor. Do you really think they couldn't sell a headless iMac in this configuration with a couple of slots…

I don't use Maya, wouldn't have a clue how to use it. I don't run any sort of Oracle database or anyting like that. I could easily use 500GB of storage internally. Let's see... 600+CDs ripped lossless. Maybe start ripping my DVD collection as well. …

The 2.5GHz isn't out yet, and dual layers aren't so expensive so as not to be included as standard equipment at the high end. 2 optical bays can be nice for duplicating discs, or accessing media on one drive while writing to another. There are numer…
