This is fully rampant speculation... The imac form factor may actually be dead. Think about it, the 17" iMac is already looking a little unbalanced, now they are going to put a 19" screen on that sucker... Probably not. Why not take a studio d…

Apple should focus on getting camera makers to put firewire ports on their cameras, otherwise USB2.0 will be the standard for digital cameras soon. Plus then they can have it hook up to an iPod for storage.

Please Apple do not listen to them!!! The camera market is hypercompetitve without any nitch unfilled. The iPod saw a great gap in the market that has only now started to be filled up. You would have to revise the model annually and there would n…

I have no problem with the headless iMac/eMac deal, that makes more sense, but the moment you add slots, I think you are going to kill low end PowerMac sales. I think they should just take the eMac, cut off them monitor off the top and sell it as…

Apple has no room for this line. Look at the current lineup with processor speed: eMac/iMac --- 700Mhz+ --- $1299+ PowerMac --- 1Ghz+ --- $1499+ Where are you going to stick a new tower at this point that won't cannabalie iMac sales or Pow…

[quote]Originally posted by Matsu: Cables? uh un, no points. We've got a new lab with what looks like 200 Dell desktops (not towers) with 15" LCD's on top of them. They take up very little room. No more than an eMac, scarecly more than an i…

I bought a 12" iBook instead of a 15.2" Powerbook because I didn't care about AltiVec, and minimal desk footprint is all I cared about and all I still care about. Sure they could D/C the 12" iBook, if they came out with a 10" iBook with built in dri…

I use my cell phone in the house all the time because all of my numbers are in there. I would love to have my house phone synced up...

No way is there going to be a cheap headless tower. You want one, buy an old discontinued PowerMac. Now they have to strip down a PowerMac, remove all the built in hardware that makes Macs better and support this stripped down platform. I could mayb…

So Apple should cannabalize their sales and profits by releasing an expandable headless Mac at a low price. What you want is a PowerMac at half-price... They could take an iMac, cut the head off and call it the Sphere I guess, but then you don't …

I think the problem is there isn't enought disparity in consumer Mac processors and professional Macs (i.e. iMac vs. PowerMac) to support another option. It would cannabalize PowerMac sales to have G4 processors in a headless design at this time in …

I think I've posted this before here, but look at this device:

That's why a Tivo device works so well. It replaces a VCR/DVD player, not adds to and just happens to be network enabled to handle iTunes. Now you can get rid of your 300cd changer as well... I want to eliminate boxes from my living room, not add to…

Wow, what vitriol... Anyway, a $300 Tivo style box would work just fine for most people. Store your MP3s, do Tivo, basic stuff here, no need to run a lot of other tasks for most people. Add a good firewall router that is easy to use, a web page s…

Well Fujitsu has managed to make a 3lb notebook with an optical drive so Apple could have done it... To see some really small notebooks, I think dynamism has a bunch of J-market ones. And to those of you who say that small notebooks are a bad …

Check out the Fujitsu Lifebook P, everything in a 3 lb packaqe, it is doable... I've been clamoring for a 3lb Titanium for a while...

I think xGrid will be xServe clustering, but that's just me...
