Although I've never gotten the chance to use Time Machine myself, I think I might have a couple of ideas to try. 1) Mount the hard drive, and look at the contents in the Finder. Is the Backups.backupdb folder there? 2) If it is, try turning off…

Wow, that is some old technology. But how can I complain, I just upgraded from an iMac G3/333MHz. In any case, my recommendations are twofold. 1) Don't worry too much about OS 9. In my (admittedly few) years with OS X, I used it once. 2) Yo…

I'm not familiar with any reported issues, but it sounds like perhaps the fan controls were set incorrectly in the old firmware. The new firmware probably has the fans running more often/quickly, meaning less heat but more noise.

From what I've seen in Charleston, SC, the Apple section is fairly well maintained. They have an Apple employee working there most of the time, and everything works properly. Granted, the experience is far from an Apple store, but with the closest…

Thanks everybody. I'm not sure how I missed Paintbrush in my searches. That looks like it should fill my needs. Thanks again for helping me out.

Try this: In System Preferences, click on Sound. Click on the Output tab. Make sure that the output device selected is something like "Built in Output" The software may have changed this setting to be another device. Good luck!

I'm assuming that you're using the Mighty Mouse. If yours is anything like mine, the pointer will just randomly jump around at times. I've had to just deal with it. The problem itself is independent of software or operating system; I've exper…
