Go to /Applications/Utilities/Disk Copy. As long as its not your boot partition, you can reformat it to HFS+. I thought that Linux partitions could be seen by OS X. Any way you could send me a copy of your distro?

What is this exactly? Is it Apple's version of XDarwin? I have xfree86 installed and currently use XDarwin, would I just have to install this Apple thing and double click it to work?

Moving the drive to the ATA -66 spot might do the trick, but I'm not sure. Better ask someone else about it. If you have a spare hard drive laying around you might try using that. It would be even better than having 9 and X on different partitions.
