What is the TDP for the Fusion? Any chance we'll see it in the Mini?

And Hubble makes the Google homepage! (on the 24th, not the 23rd - I stand corrected)

Okay. Are there any files or folders, any important data that needs to be backed up first? (USB keys they know about; DVDs and ISOs are a foreign language.)

Or, very conceivable. Probably even inevitable. But that doesn't mean the cloud is bad, or corrupted, or any less useful. It's just the nature of the Web. My two cents: encrypt first, then Time Machine, then cloud.

No *new* machines. Doesn't say anything about adding new features or options to existing hardware. In November: the quad-core iMacs... ? 27" Core i5, SuperDrive standard, Blu-Ray (BTO option, +$250) --- ? 27" Core i7, SuperDrive standa…

The Core i7 supports hyperthreading (aka HT); the i5 does not. HT lets your system run extra threads per processor; in essence, a Core i7 system has 4 actual cores and 4 'virtual' cores. Right now, very few programs can take advantage of these 4 'v…

Lower prices are all nice and good, but I'd rather pay the same price or or a little more, for a much more powerful system. (Quad-Core iMac or bust!)

Hmm... a fast, thin, virus-free OS that has been expressly designed for netbooks and other Internet devices (including tablets)? Apple has spent *years* crafting distinct OSes for the Mac and the iPhone, and they're probably not eager to craft yet …

And now we see where Microsoft's attack ads have failed. Instead of drawing more people away, the ads have woken people up to see that, especially in this economy, Macs have the better long-term value. Way to go, Microsoft! On another thought, ma…

Read between the lines: this is not about how well a game designer can port to the newest platform. This is about said game developer not burning its bridges (aka its existing contracts) with Sony and/or Nintendo. Heads up, folks, cause there's b…

Quad-Core 28" iMac: in Apr '08 (in the Computerworld forums) I predicted a quad-core model, and in these forums last year I hinted at a 27" model, but I still feel vindicated. I told you so, I told you so!!!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: 27" iMac! ? It makes sense logically, falling between Apple's 24" and 30" screen sizes, and ? It would allow more room for increased cooling

1) Intel's new i7 is more than just new processors, it's a new architecture, one specifically designed to get the most performance out of each core and each thread. Since the Mac mini has never been about performance, it's doubtful the mini will s…

The Mini is NOT a piece of junk - not now, not ever. For the few that need or want a small, quiet desktop Mac (without a screen), the Mini is perfect. But, Apple *has to* update the graphics. Let's hope...

If Apple doesn't do anything else with the mini, if they update the graphics, I'll be a happy camper. And I suspect sales will pick up quite nicely, too.
