It is clear that while the air has some fans, it has failed to find a larger market. A lower price never hurts a product. Redesigning it to be more netbook like won't hurt, either, as long as it has clearly superior hardware to netbooks (no Atom). …

I think the optical drive is going away in the next year or two. Apple already sells an external DVD drive for $99, it'll be for more than just the air soon.

That HP slate video was pretty sad. It's a product of compromises. It has a keyboard button because the keyboard exists in a layer above the OS- Windows has a very poor software keyboard, so they had to fake a hardware keyboard. And it must be runni…

I would have thought an Apple store might have an alarm. I would have been wrong.

The next refresh of the Macbook and 13" MBP will mark either Apple's return to Intel Integrated Graphics at the low end, or Apple's adoption of AMD processors and Radeon integrated graphics on those machines. Since I think Apple is being cheap an…

Intel's newest architecture would fit in a 13" Macbook Pro just fine. Apple's engineers are getting lazy.

Took them long enough. A device that has sold well, is meant to be hand-held, has some heft to it, and a big glass panel? Apple must have a ton of damaged iPads it can refurbish. It doesn't fit with Apple's usual 15% off on refurbs, though- that …

This is close to getting too complex for the type of appliance computer it's supposed to be.

I think these will be fantastic processors for the markets they're aimed at, but I wouldn't bet a dime on Apple using them. Because the markets these processors are aimed at are 1) netbooks and 2) budget low-end laptops.
