R2 runs just fine in Boot Camp but slow in Fusion Doesn't sound like you know what you're getting into with R2. Unless you plan on obtaining an MCITP then I'd stick with 7

try reinstalling OS X first on the old one. If that doesn't work get the old one fixe. it will be cheaper than buying a new one... probably... which you shouldn't buy until they release new ones later this month... probably
