More RAM is almost always good for power consumption for a very simple reason: you need way more power to reload assets that you have to regenerate from closing an app or downloading data from a network resource (especially if that resource involves…

Considering Apple has already locked up a large percentage of profits in the mobile space, going after marketshare in these countries is foolish. Companies exist to make money, not to have everyone using their products (the former does not always me…

Here's the bigger, more fair question. If Walt Mossberg ever had anything genuinely negative to say about Apple, would he print it? I mean they invited John Gruber over the New York Times, who has millions more readers as a company. Regardless o…

What no regular AirPlay? Sometimes I just want to send the system audio over, instead of having the app do it. And good lord, please have a clear all button in Notification Center. I hate having to tap super tiny buttons on my iPhone twice to cle…

I really hope it's not two separate LTE models for AT&T and Verizon. That would totally suck.

It's not a question of if, but when. Problem is that ARM would be in addition to, not replacement of, x86, especially in desktops. And I doubt they'd pull a Rosetta and make an x86-to-ARM instruction translator, that would be wasteful and slow. Not …

Considering the fact that AT&T will be using AWS for part of its 4G LTE network, there's a very good chance that Apple is finally convinced to put in support for 1700Mhz in their next iPhone.

What's really amazing about the iPhone introduction video is how little the interface has changed in 5 years because they got so much right on day one. Sure, there were some rough edges but the original concepts have definitely withstood the test of…
