Christ that's FUGLY! Imagine that when it's wired up!!! Apples backs are better than the front of most PC's.

I sold my 17" iMac in March for £1000 and I was like because I "knew" there'd be a new iMac out soon! Then it didn't appear and I was like months later and I'm like then HURRAH! confirmation that the new iMac is a G5! but w h…

Yep, this is nice: but I'd prefer to have the screen on top: Lemon: you have to upload the image to your website, then copy the url into the popup when you click "image' in the message reply panel.

I agree, the HiMac is cool, but if it's £1300 + it's to expensive. I'd pay £999 for it. I'd buy a headless if it was £699 - £799

It's no bother.

This from Mackompass: is nice, but what about screen adjustment? For me, AIO design made sense when we had the CRT. But with a LCD there's no reason for it and you should let each component "be true to itself" Who said that???

I like the look of it, but I still prefer having my screen up in the air and adjustable like the current imac. I wonder how this design would fare against the various rules and regs for ergonomics etc? I still don't get the idea of putting all…

Whether the new iMac is headless or not (I still think it'll be an AIO) there is still room in Apple's product lineup for a cheap desktop like the the Quadra 700 (not cheap actually at £4000), and Powermac 7300 etc used to be. I currently have a …

To accomodate the G5, they might just enlarge the base unit. Maybe big it up for better GFX?

I'm happy to let the pony tail brigade pay over the odds for a form over function iMac. What I really want now is all the power of a G5 tower in a desk friendly white plastic box, no bigger than an old 7600. Back in the old days there was too …

Yes I would prefer a headless Mac with a matching screen. Don't know if it would be classed as an "iMac" though... Maybe the Apple screen could "dock" with the base unit without wires...?

Quote: Escher: Let's hope Apple gets the price right too! Thanks! It's something I'd pay £999 for: 17" LCD 1.8Ghz G5 Superdrive 8x 120GB HD 512MB RAM Radeon 9800 (swappable) 2 x FW 1 x FW 800 3 x USB 2 Bluetooth and Airport Incl…
