Spacial audio is a really good application for cars, much more so than lossless audio. Most luxury and new luxury cars have at least a dozen speakers in them and sometimes over 30. Dolby Atmos by itself can be mapped to take advantage of this but Ap…

The price is $80 or $129 for a family of 5 a year, but also $10 a month or $5 a day. So if you don't dive often, the daily or monthly rate isn't huge.

Like the author of there article, I'm a recreational diver (25 years experience, advanced open water & nitrox certs). Like the author, I wear a Zeagle BCD, specifically the same Ranger model I've used since 1998. Unlike the author, I have no pr…

Sadly, this news is not a surprise. I began my path with Drobo buying a 4-bay Gen 2 over a decade ago. My most recent purchase was a Drobo 5D3 about 4+ years ago. I recently took the 5D3 out of production when I invested in a QNAP NAS and a Mac + OW…

One of the nicer features of OS X Server back in the day was the UI for management of DNS. It wasn't for extremely complex situations but it was very handy for small to medium sized networks and it was a lot easier than hand editing text files.

I think Elon Musk realized that being a board officer would put him under even more constraints on the use of Twitter than he currently has. Musk's problems right now come from the fact that he can't say anything he wants about a public company abou…

And this is exactly why when there is an update from Apple, large or small, that I take every single device from my family members and patch it that day. For friends and family I help out with but don't see often, their machines are on auto-update. …

This is a curious choice. The base model Mac Studio + Studio display could easily replace the 27" iMac if you configured the iMac more toward the expensive side to get a price in the mid $3000s. And this machine would crush that iMac in all aspects.…

An interesting coda in the history of Activision, probably the oldest independent gaming company (meaning one who didn't make their own console system). They date back to the Atari 2600 system introduced in the late 70s, making games for that consol…

At some point Comcast must have realized that losing people who wanted a TV package to YoutubeTv (Google) or Hulu (Disney) wasn't a good long term strategy. But limiting that strategy to only Roku boxes made even less sense. I'm not sure just what t…

Apple is all about the control of what they do.....engineering, development and delivery. Right now the one thing Apple is fine with third parties is manufacturing. And that's the only path for Intel right now since Apple will never ever go back to …

Strange....I have an old iPhone 6s I use for testing and it still says 14.7 is the version for it. Everything else is updating.
