Shessh - there is just no way of please you people! Barto: I am running OS X and not any other *nix variants. Want to wager on that? Brad: I am aware that UI is more than just looking good. You are, however, avoiding the point I have ra…

Ah, Brad, so much said but the argument is so much simpler. Here is what you originally stated: "If the UI isn't good, then neither is the app". This essentially distills to the following: function of the object is irrelavant if its form does n…

Man - I have not met a group of people as obsessed as to how a program looks as some Mac users! If you don't like how Firebird looks - change it!

I had a similar problem after reboot my iBook. Brought it in to Apple store and at first both the tech and I were convinced my logic board was screwed. However, when booting up with a OS X CD, the problem went away which eliminate the logic board …

IMO, Pentium-M is where the future is - faster than P4 at the same clockspeed yet uses less power (quieter PC). However, the new hyperthreading 800FSB (4x200) processor would be the choice for the power users (gamers and a handful of people out the…

All *desktop* OS, be it XP, OS X, or Linux are expected to freeze/crash sooner or later because the constant configuration changes we make to it. With that said, for me both XP and OS X have been very stable. There are times where I have to reboot…

I would imagine it is far easier to port Konqueror to Windows than Safari to Windows. Safari is based on KHTML in Konqueror to start with anyway.

I am playing with Mozilla Firebird 0.6 on PC and Mac. Still buggy (to be expected) but I like it.

You can find bad stories with any company, especially with a company as large as Dell. I have no compaints with them. I got a 20GB iPod for $284 after the 3G iPod came out.
