When I first got my Powermac I still had a dial up connection, it took about 45 minutes to download a 9mb file from System Update, if it didn't get cut off along the way. Today I have a cable modem & it took just 12 min. to download OS X 10.2…

I thought of a new reason thats starting to piss me off. Lets say you want to buy the ATI 9700Pro Video card for the PC, you've got no problem. But if you want to buy it for the Mac good luck, even the 9000 isn't available other than as OEM ha…

I agree with all of the above, but I think the main reason PC users don't use Macs is because they do not have any idea how much more pleasurable the OS X experience is over Windows. There were many times I passed by the Mac section at my local C…

Funny, I thought the very same thing. When I was deciding between the Apple Cinema HD display and the Sony 23" display I went to the Apple Store a few times, it was my wife who commented on how she thought the frame around the display looked too big,…

You really did your homework, that is the best price for that drive, who would have thought that CompUSA would be the cheapest, they usually aren't even near the cheapest on anything.

You can get the Sony for about $2600-$2700, I'm considering getting one myself. I just want to see one in person.

I have a friend who is taking video editing classes and their using Final Cut Pro. Now he says any computers he buys in the future will definitely be Macs, not just for Final Cut Pro, he loves OS X.

Oh, and its interesting that the User Name window has the brushed aluminum effect that OS X uses.

I don't see any tremendous change from the WXP Pro I have on my PC's right now, other than that side bar and the different color which I still think is too garish. OS X is lighk a breath of fresh air compared to Windows, this is coming from a lon…

Oh, by the way when doing the Photoshop rendering the cpu monitor does goes up 3/4 of the way but still no delay, rendering happens very fast, maybe 2 seconds max.

I have a temporary .mac account. It still says that if I want to join its $99.95, I wonder why.

Reset the PRAM: 1. Shut down the computer. 2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4. 3. Press the power button to turn the computer on. You will hear…

I saw Solaris last night, fell asleep during the first half of the movie. The second half was better, it tried to be kind of Stanley Kubrickish but didn't make it.
