  • If you do end up getting a Bluetooth USB dongle, you might want to go with the Belkin. I was told by an Apple Store employee that it actually works better than the D-link one, at least with the Sony Ericsson T68i.
  • Just a quick question- is there a difference betweenthe AIFF and CDDA formats? I've tried ripping CD's to AIFF in iTunes and get slightly larger files, but have been told that they are synonymous. What's the real deal?
  • Nevermind, just found the Ericsson Client X application.
  • I've always heard to start the music on the Lion's third roar. I did it a few years ago and was quite impressed with the results. And as others have mentioned, being drunk/stoned tends to make it more enjoyable.
  • Oh, absolutley, I agree that in the big picture sense, it's unfortunate for a small, oddly-perceived computer maker struggling for marketshare to lose two major inroads into the mass consumer market. But in the instant gratification sense, this is …
  • This is also a little off topic, but why don't F7-F12 do anything on a Pismo? All I get is the alert when I hit these.
  • I also inquired about the G3/800 upgrade, and was told "within two weeks" two weeks ago (March 18th). If you do decide to go with the G3/800 (my recommendation), try to post some before and after benchmarks. Remember - Motorola: Good IBM:Better.
  • I believe that a dual 2.3 is entirely plausible. Yeah, it may cost $5,000, it may require its own reactor, and it may heat a small village, but it will leave no question that the performance gap is officially closed. Just a little jab to the Winte…
  • I used the program 42 and I should correct myself, running it through Divx Validator did work. If anyone has gotten video but not sound using 42, this might be worth a shot.
  • I just ripped a DVD using 42, and the video looks great, but I get no sound. The Movie Properties list MPEG Layer 3 as the sound format, and I even ran it through DivX Validator from
  • [quote] Yes, absolutely. A farcical hamburger commercial is fantastic empirical evidence of the ignorance of History of 300 million people. I'm sure the team of advertising writers was primarily concerned with providing a robust analysis of the …
  • [quote] ...I don't mind cyclists taking a whole lane, that's what they're supposed to do, and especially when snow banks have further restricted lane width,... Keep in mind that if there was snow on the street, good chance there was ice as well…
  • I believe there was talk of using solar power to extract the hydrogen from methane, ethanol, etc. Anyone else heard of this?
  • As far as free fonts, try
  • I can't get CandyBar to recognize the .icns file though. If I try to drag the file into the CandyBar well, it changes to the 'ICNS' Preview icon, not the actual icon of the Zip disk.
  • I was looking to do something similar, namely change the icon of Iomega Zip disks that appear on the Desktop from the bland white Removable icon that is the default. I downloaded and installed IomegaWare 4.0.2, Ctrl-Clicked on the Iomega Tools app …
  • Why are some fonts stored in ~/Library/Fonts, and others in ~/System/Library/Fonts? Why the distinction?
  • I'd be willing to bet that Apple has had a basic .Mac package designed from the get-go. Too many people have expressed concern with the apparent lack of options and prices for Apple to turn a deaf ear. So when the new PowerMacs are introduced (…
  • If this chip was eventually manufactured on a .09-micron process, that would lower the price, correct? And make it viable for portable use?
  • [quote] MOT is not going to be making the next gen chips, it will be IBM with a power4 core. [quote] Let's just say a little bird told me. [quote] Well, if the successor to the G4 is called a G5, then yes, it will be an IBM POWER4-core aff…
