  • I ordered a mac mini on Friday, July 22nd. I checked today the order status and noticed this... "MAC MINI 1.25 CTO Processing Order Est. Ship 08/03/2005" Quite a long gap to me. Also the only thing I changed was the ram so I doubt that wo…
  • I live about 5 minutes from school and i don't have a floppy drive to use at school and they are very anal about transfering anything from a home computer to a school computer. Quote: Originally posted by DMBand0026 Maybe this is a dumb…
  • Does that mean there is no way to do printing over internet? Another thing which would be really cool is if someone knows how to send faxes over a bluetooth phone. I have a Sony Ericsson T616 with cingular.
  • Last year, they gave the $20 update to people who bought computers in july last year. That was a month before Jaguar came out so hopefully my new powerbook will apply.
  • Quote: Originally posted by Aquatic I just want some TV series like Scrubs. If I can record it with a VCR then I should be able to download it. Also my upload speed is always twice my download speed. as in I'm downloading at.7 k/s uploadi…
  • I have a powerbook 1.25ghz, and it runs pretty good. I'm betting after each release (sixty force is at .7 and Mupen is at .3) that it will improve because how old is the nintendo 64? I mean SNES runs pretty good and that came out what 12 years ago…
  • I never knew geocities did that bummer. My bad. Well I think i'm getting a .mac account and I'll post some snapz pro captures of it in action (hopefully it won't slow down the emulator) Josiah
  • Alright so with Mupen64 I already played perfect dark. It was pretty slow but the graphics were pretty clear and its needed a little work but speed was main the issue. Here's a screen shot As you can see i had ichat open but it the speed rea…
  • Hi i have a new Alu 15in 1.25 and I just heard about that Mupen .3 emulator. I ran it and played Mario 64 with framerates over 30fps the whole time. Mario Kart ran smooth. Even GoldenEye worked (slow though) the graphics were clean. I'm surprsie…
  • Bittorrent can run really fast. Depending which site you are getting them from. Mine vary from 25k to 125k. It really depends on how you do your setup as well. If you have your upload at no limit then u won't get anywhere, set the upload limit a…
  • yea i have a powerbook Alu 15in 1.25 and so far no game I've played can slow it down (unless I kill with the resolution). Medal of Honor-smooth. Army Operations-smooth. Unreal Tournament 2003-smooth. Return to Wolfenstein-smooth. I have Warc…
  • well i'm not sure exactly how you are setting up your network but this is how I have mine set up with no problems. I have a new 15in Alu that I use all the time. Next I bought a Netgear614 (no sure on the number but all i know is I got a grea…
  • well I was at a coffee shop yesterday and was next to a window with the sun directly shining on my screen. The brightness of the LCD's on the new powerbooks is much brighter then the Ti's (that's the only way I can compare it as of right now). I …

  • Well did a full charge last night and worked through it surfing the web and downloading some big files (with the keyboard back light off) and when I hit about 10% left my total time was 3 hours and 15 minutes so it seems that 10.2.8 actually improve…
  • We know that the new Powerbooks have the Motorola 7447 in it and not the 7457. I suspect that the 7457 will be ready by January giving apple plenty of time to put these in the next powerbook update. They will get a small speed boast (probably…
  • Quote: Originally posted by buckeye i have a gap problem as well on my 15inch. Did they replace the whole unit? They replaced the whole unit because my laptop wouldn't stay closed (bad latch). But from my replacement it seems like the gap…
  • I would go ahead and get your powerbooks and don't worry about the latch problem because not all of them have it. My replacement worked fine. So its only a small # of new Alu powerbooks.
  • Well two hours in I have 25% left (and this was on a 80% charge). So I'll have to do more results later but I'm going to drain the battery until the end and see my final time. Then probably by the end of the week I'll have a better idea about the …
  • actually my 15in 1.25 alu had a gap as well. Except the one with the gap had a latch problem which seems to be appearing more often now. Apple gave me a replacement and the gap seems to be smaller from what I can remember. Josiah
