It's a pretty good ad cinematically, but looking at it from a consumer's POV I come off thinking I want a tablet, and by extension the "cool iPad" I've heard about--not a Xoom. The iPad being $300 cheaper helps as well. P.S. Anyone else hear a bi…

I doubt there were only 100,000 pre-orders available if they went 17 hours before going out of stock. My guess would be more like 500,000.

Very evolutionary. There's really nothing wrong with iPad 1, the only thing it's really short on right now is RAM. I don't need a camera, although it'd be nice. Don't need it much faster, although again, I wouldn't mind a second less of app starting…

I don't think Apple is looking to remove the buttons right now: they're just making things easier/faster/convenient. This convention makes a lot of sense.

Gruber knows his stuff. Disappointing if not somewhat expected even a week ago. The rumours just got too many and "well-sourced" to ignore what was thought unfeasible before. No SD card slot either, I (and Gruber) think. That one never made sense.

I must say that with only a short period between announcement and beginning sale date, I'm surprised Apple didn't identify earlier that complications would arise. All the handsets available for press at the event were white models. I want to know wh…

This is just one side of the story, but disagree strongly with what's been described here. I'm hoping there's a good explanation from Apple for it.

Love the software switch, and the multitouch gestures were completely unexpected but very welcome. Apple's giving more/larger features in their point releases. Very nice to see. Also interesting to see the ability to turn off the advanced gestures.

That is just cool. This is one of the glimpses into how much Apple cares about how they affect the world around them and the impact they can make.

Yes, although I must admit that it's not alone in missing titles. I have a list of about 30 books I'd like to purchase, but cannot find on any of the bookstores: i.e. iBooks, Kindle, Nook, Kobo, Stanza, etc. iBooks at least has equal amount of books…
