From my perspective, the iSight/iChatAV is possibly the greatest thing that Apple has done. I am a U.S. citizen living in Japan right now. So I am currently living more than 2,000 miles away from my family. In October of last year, I lost my f…

Randycat99, The only way to be sure is to write the manufacturer of the card that you intend to purchase. But that being said... I have a USB2.0 card made by a Japanese Manufacturer called Ratoc Systems. They use the NEC uPD720101 chipset whic…

Sorry, double post. I could never get that delete post function to work.

AFAIK, even if the VPC drive image of Win 2K gets messed up by virus/worms etc., it will not affect Mac OS X. You just need to reinstall a new Win2K drive image.

FormatC2 has a valid point. As CRTs become more scarce, the prices will start to rise. Perhaps the eMac prices will go up before the iMac prices come down. Either way, the eMac will be discontinued when the eMac price approaches the iMac pric…

I doubt that the eMacs will go LCD. The eMacs were created for two reasons: 1. The CRT is cheaper than LCD. 2. The iMac of the time was not a true AIO. But since the current iMac has become a true AIO, the eMac only exists for reason #1. When…

The PowerMac could be upgraded to a 1.5GHz G4 and a Radeon 9800. When connected to a CRT or a LCD with a quick response-time, the result is a system that is arguably better then the iMac. Of course it won't be that much better and it will cost al…

The problem is that HP support is crap. My workplace has a one-year old scanner that is not Panther compatible. HP promised updates but it seems they gave up. They now post a workaround hack so that the scanner will have limited functionality in Pan…

I wasn't aware that some devices had trouble with fast user switching. What exactly is the problem?

You could find that and more on this page: http://www.apple.com/imac/graphics.html

I'd be more than happy with the specs of the 20" iMac. The 17" is another story though. The limited vertical viewing angle bothers me.

It's supposedly the same iSight with an additional magnetic mount for the cinema displays. Apple didn't think that it was worth announcing.

My guess will be November. I don't have any inside knowledge but Apple can't afford to not have a updated model before Christmas. PB sales are too important to them. Judging from recent rumors and comments from Apple, you won't see a PB G5 until …
