Now, if only Apple would accelerate the release of a Mac Mini that connects to these guys (and fully supports TB2 speeds). Would make a heck of a video server. My old Mac Mini connected to FW800 raid still stutters all the time.

Or you could have bought "DOSource" way back then, a disassembled and commented version of the source code. Wasn't on the market very long..... (threatening Apple letter:)).

"You can't polish a turd..." Actually, Mythbusters proved that you can. But the end result is that you still wind up with nothing more than a shiny turd.

Well, I got the unlimited plan under the assumption that I could pay $30 for any month when I needed data. A month later they cancelled it. Fortunately, I got in under the wire -- I still have the unlimited plan. OTOH, I've had to keep that plan "ho…

In other news, the NSA can grab data directly off your phone without using Apple's servers, so the fact that the fingerprint information is kept only on your phone might not be as comforting as Apple would like you to think...

I can drive two miles to my AT&T store and walk out with a working iPhone (and "trickle down" my phone through the other phones on my family plan). Or I can walk into Apple's store 35 miles away and be told I have to make an appt to come back …

Family plan "trickle down" is a much better deal. I, who pays the monthly plan, gets the new phone each year. Mine goes to the next person in line, their's goes down to the next, and the person at the bottom (4 on the plan) get the next-to-oldest ph…

I wear a watch. Can't live without it. But I also destroy watches (few last me more than two years, and that would be the Casio GShock variety); I'm just too clumsy and rough on then -- banging them against walls, tables, gear, car doors, etc. I'm…
