The operating has a log file that lists what Apple software you have installed on your computer. You can view by going to the Software Update control pannel and clicking on the Installed Updates tab.

I think a 500MHz G3 is faster than a 600MHz Celeron, although if you plan on running OS X, you may want something faster than a 500MHz G3. How much do old G4 PowerBooks go for on eBay?

I figure by the time the G5 PowerBook comes out, my iBook will be over two years old, and I can justify upgrading. I'd be willing to spend $3000 on a PowerBook if it had a G5.

Yeah, battery life is low because Apple is using cheaper batteries. I think the old TiBooks used 61WH batteries, the new ones use 46WH batteries. Kind of blows.
