I thought the prevailing opinion was the Moto was out to screw Apple because of the "Clone Wars". I'm guessing Moto would love to sell to anybody that had the $$$. But they are getting lots of embedded sales and Apple sales coupled with yield issu…

If the G5 is as powerful as the rumors suggest, than I expect no MP in the first release. Probably a combination of G4 duals in the middle and G5 single at the top. Yields will also play a part.

PowerMacs are for Pro users. They will want to move big files around. Airport, as someone pointed out, is not the solution at current speeds. Pro users don't want to pay for stuff they aren't using. There have been many discussions through the ye…

Most of them HATE anything not free (as beer) or not Linux. They view Macs as pretty toys without enough buzz word hardware and not cutting edge enough. They hate any company that doesn't give it away (QuickTime and Sorenson Codec). They hate any…

The problem with bundling is what do you do if you already have the apps bundled or don't use them. You are paying for stuff you don't need. I'd rather they didn't bundle because when I upgrade my Mac, I don't want to have duplicate apps. Offer a…

I agree that 733 MHZ won't be on any PM when the new Macs come out. If it was a measly 133 mhz speed bump without DDR, then Apple would have brought it out at MacWorld ALONG with the 14" iBook (this didn't take away from the iMac). They would want…

I don't expect to see USB 2.0 on the mobo for at least 1 year (if ever). Not a whole lot of USB 2.0 stuff is shipping (PCs or products) so no real need. Since it competes with FireWire, Apple will not want to push it. Probably a good 3rd party op…

I tell you what I would like to see. The LCD with the new iMac base and in the base add a 4 port USB hub and a 3 port FireWire hub. All the complaints about having to reach around the PowerMac to plug in devices would be solved. I think this would…

How about a speed bump with G5 in April after Seybold in February. G4 @ 1.0 Ghz in February G4 @ 1.x Ghz in March G5 @ 1.x Ghz in April After all Seybold is for Pros like the PowerMacs. [ 01-12-2002: Message edited by: CodeWarrior ]

What about an x86 server based on OS X? This would be a easy way to test the waters and allow Apple to come out with cheap servers. That said, I don't believe Apple will come out with a version of OS X for x86 (yet). Cocoa for x86, maybe. Full…
