[quote]Originally posted by Flounder: Hopefully the 970 will be hitting the towers this summer/fall and at that point you KNOW the iMac will be getting a whole lot better. I hadn't thought of that, lets hope you are right, but do you think the …

Man if the 17" iMac would support dual displays instead of just mirroring I'd get one of those 20" beauties.

I am seriously considering going wireless. Prolly will the next time I trip over cat5 cable that goes to my wifes notebook and bust my ass

Got mine (well my wife's actually when she can get it away from me) from maczone.com, it came with a free airport card, a free case (the blue brenthaven one that goes for $79 at apple.com) and that myob firstedge software. They charged no sales tax …

Ordered one for my wife it should be here tomorrow morning. I think I'm more excited than her

Oh, thats good to know. I was a bit ticked off when Apple introduced the new airport stuff that wouldnt work with existing macs. My iMac is only a couple of months old.

I tried the link and it worked for me, try it again ;-)

I have the 17" imac and I believe its the same screen being used in the new big powerbooks. 1440 x 900 seems fine to me. I just wish you could rotate the imac screen so it would be extra tall, now that would be usefull for coding.

Verizon doesn't allow you to send mail out thru their servers unless its one of their email addresses. This won't mess up .mac stuff since apple supplies an smtp server. Verizon DSL is pretty cheap but they charge a 37.50 line charge if you go with …

I have the older 17" iMac (800 mghz) and a new 12" PB. The display on the 12" PB is much brighter than that of the 17" iMac. I am actually thinking of selling my iMac and getting either another PB or a PowerMac. Unless you are going to be burning DV…

Look the 12" PB is a lure for those that would be buying an iBook for the size. The 12" PB blows the 12" iBook out of the water and thats what it was supposed to do. Its an entry level PB and it rocks. I got one for my wife and every time she needs…

Power iMac, imagine it, same shape but a lucite & silver finish. All the pro features and upgradeable (by apple techs only)

My wife teaches at a local college and she wants a 12" ibook. I tried to talk her into a powerbook or a 14" ibook but she likes the fact that the 12" ibook is small, light and has a long battery life. I am trying to get her to look at the 12" powerb…

I have a 17" iMac, i really like it. Its not as loud as the powermacs and the display is really nice, but if a 1.x ghz iMac popped up tomorrow I would sell this one on ebay in a heartbeat and get a new one I see the new 1ghz powermac as a sw…

USB ports well if you want them on the front get a usb hub, same for firewire ports although I just leave the firewire cable for my video camera plugged in. As for the power button, it would be neat to have the silver apple logo be the power button …

Ok, I'm a switcher but it wasn't just windows to os x. First I went with Linux, it was ok, but it felt raw and unfinished and required alot of technical reading to get it to do what I wanted. Then I tried OS X and its like a complete Linux and more.…

Yea I hear ya on the pixels, I have 1 stuck pixel and about a centemeter away there are 2 maybe 3 in a clump. Can you say annoying? Although if 1 more appears it will look like a little green Orion's Belt on my screen.

That was very impressive! Time to go download that Maya free learning edition.
