I wonder how much data it would take for AT&T to declare abuse? At 100-150kbps, it would take a while to get more than a few hundred MBs, but certainly possible to clog their network with downloading.

Just go to eBay: there are a lot of sellers who do international shipping (they get better prices that way) and you have the eBay feedback system, $2000 PayPal protection, etc. Here's a search to get you started: http://search.ebay.com/ws/searc…

So, the bad news is that 1.0.1 didn't bring any shiny new features (it was a "dot dot" release after all). But the good news is that it: - kept Apple's security cred high before Black Hat - made Safari more stable for many people (patching me…

Just get a copy stand (or small tripod that can angle downwards) and fix a video camera pointing straight down. It will probably need to be manually focussed. Project the output of the video camera. This is the way Newton demos used to be do…

Bug fixes Ability to see track / podcast info Preference to NOT have podcasts show up in album lists (including coverflow - it looks stupid seeing the amateurish or non-existent cover art of a podcast right next to a classic album cove…

That seems a complete 180 from this guy's experience: http://www.geekologie.com/2007/07/gu...his_iphone.php If you can't get any love from Apple, did you buy it on credit card? Which one? Some cards have a buyer protection policy, which is…

What is this, a spam festival? Anyway, for converting video all the cool kids use VisualHub. All the power of ffmpegx, without the smashing head against desk part. v1.26 added iPhone presets.

If you suspect you might fail the credit check, you could buy it from an AT&T store, as they do a pre-check as part of the sale.

Is Gmail considered secure? I've found myself using Gmail more and more, particularly for having various other email accounts fed into it. (Either through forwarding or the very neat ability of Gmail to do its own server checking for up to 5 acc…

No indication on "real" price? That is, what you commit for when signing up on a 2 year voice and data plan. Am I correct in thinking that no one can walk into a store, pay $499 and come out with an iPhone WITHOUT having also signed up for a $__…

I don't think Apple will be releasing anything around the time of the iPhone. It would distract from it, and Apple wants every last eyeball on the planet to be glued to the iPhone. I'd agree Santa Rosa/Penryn iMacs, MacBook Pros, MacBooks, and p…
