what did I get out of this article? The music distribution market is a screwed-up mess. If only we could tear it down and start over...

The 7457 is shipping now? Link please? Also, would it kill anyone to title the thread with a proper name, not this esoteric crap?

This is kind of a drag for me, because I started editing video on Windows Premiere, and switched to Mac when I saw that Premier worked better on the Mac (in 1999, this was). It's not so much that Windows Premiere is a terrible product, it's just …

If you don't need to use PCI-X slots (and let's face it, who does?) just get the 1.6 model. If you want to get the fastest machine around, no compromises, get the dual 2 Ghz. Unless you need PCI-X and 8GB RAM, I can't think of any reason why y…

The Mac is a pretty small platform, and when Apple (which controls the OS) already makes an excellent and (and sometimes free) competitor to your application, what sense does it make to compete with them? On the one hand, I like a lot of Apple'…

---- Gizzmonic: I've got relatives in Iraq and it doesn't worry me a bit. If anything my two Marine cousins would probably like hearing that. Don't know and don't really care, but I'd be confident in a wager. You have not one sin…

I'd say flip a coin... The G5 will have much longer "legs" than the G4, if you're planning on keeping a machine for 5 years, then get the G5. If you're gonna upgrade sooner, keep the G4.

The only thing that all Mac users do...is use Macs. Making any other generalization is just talking out of your ass.

I can't wait for the G5 to be released, so we can see exactly how this "Night Flight" thing turns out. While it looks impressive, I'm how the test would end up if he let it render all the way through. Rendering the first ten frames doesn't give us…

Just a small point: Hispanic is not a race! It means "from a Spanish speaking background." There are many people in Cuba, Puerto Rico, Mexico etc that speak only Spanish, yet come from 100% African roots. These people are considered Hispanic (at…

You definitely don't need 2 network cards to connect the Mac to the PC. However, if you're going to connect the two, you'll need a crossover cable or hub (as others have pointed out). Also you will need to configure TCP/IP (the internet protocol…

Repeat after me: ONLINE PETITIONS DON'T WORK. YOU VASTLY OVERESTIMATE THE MARKETABILITY OF YOUR OWN DESIRES.

We're seeing Apple creep farther and farther away from the famous 4-box matrix that Steve Jobs cut the focus to... However, in the case of the iPod, this has been extremely profitable. The Apple Music Store and iSight have great potential as wel…

I think the excuse that Amorph is getting, the "what's going to happen to UI if we go to multi-button mice?" is rather alarmist. We've already gone to multi-button mice, that is, most Mac and PC users have. Contextual menus are here to stay...wh…
