One piece of context that these types of things often miss is that MULTIPLE PEOPLE live in a house! IFTTT is _terrible_ in this regard. If you set it to turn off your lights when you leave and turn them back on when you get home... then it will d…

I used it at McDonalds today... worked great. I use it everywhere I can... but so few retailers actually accept it.

@foggyhill actually an app like this still "goes to sleep" after a long period of not looking at your watch... similar to the way iPhone apps "in the background" eventually get moved out of memory and when you reopen them they do a quick reload. Y…

Used it a few times today... works great so far. I'm currently on a business trip - so it's nice to check in with my wife in a discrete way while still being able to see her.

I want it. I often want to see my wife to say "hi", but I'm usually in some shared area with lots of people where it would be annoying to FaceTime (airport, work, bus, subway, meeting, etc) This is to FaceTime what regular texting is to making a p…

I use this all the time to keep Reminders Nano open to my grocery list while I shop. Very handy!

No way. I work on a computational science team of 50. We are exclusively Mac based: both laptops and workstations. Over the years we've owned several hundred Mac laptops. We've already owned ~100 Retina Macbook Pros (we stay current because our …

This is good news. It was definitely a missing piece for me. I have Spotify pegged at Extreme for both streaming and syncing and I let it sync over cellular too. Audio is so lightweight anyway that it barely even makes a dent in my data usage.

I love my Moga Rebel. The built in clip is perfect for my 6+. The battery lasts FOREVER. And the size is good for my large hands. For those looking for MFi games go to https://mfigamelist.afterpad.com . That's a pretty comprehensive site that i…

Guys - quit going all doomsday on this. Home sharing still works fine from macs and AppleTV. They only removed it from iOS devices. Surely many of you aren't using iPhones as media servers for your house...

The watch can connect to known wifi networks on its own NOW. When near one you can send iMessages and receive mail.... all without an iPhone. What you can't do is launch third party apps (of course) or make a phone call. Both of those will change…

One thing these things need to get better about is MULTIPERSON contextual awareness. I use IFTTT to turn my Hue lights on when I come home... But it doesn't take into account what my wife is up to. If I ran out to grab some donuts early in the mor…

Good. It was a missing feature. Hopefully it will mean that thieves learn quickly that the Watch isn't worth messing with and stealing them never even becomes an issue.
