I haven't had any problems with Myst IV on 10.3.7, other than it being a bit slow.

I wasn't sure from Napster's web site, but it seemed to me that you had to buy the songs to put them on your MP3 player. So you get to pay $0.99 per song on your player PLUS the $10/month? I could be misunderstanding this, though.

Call your credit card company, they're usually pretty good about helping out with bad charges.

Today's Wall Street Journal has an article on the front page of the Personal Journal section that is essentially an FAQ for the iPod. I'm flabbergasted by this. That is a fairly large statement about how hot a product Apple has.

Address Book has a similar problem: try printing return address labels. Multiple copies of the same item on a page seems to be something that isn't thought out across all the Apple software.

Actually, I found it entirely by accident when looking for something completely different. But, you're welcome!

Somebody made a much slicker version of what I was going to do (excuse to learn Cocoa): http://homepage.mac.com/bwebster/iph...rymanager.html It took 5 minutes to figure out how to make iPhoto switch libraries from the terminal, but I got a ways …

How'd they get there, out of curiosity? An import process?

Unless I'm misunderstanding, delete them from iPhoto's "Organize" view, using the cmd key to multiple select?

The basic firewall in System Preferences is on by default, I thought? I would have to specifically allow services to open ports...

Hey I was just going to see if I could do it. I'm certainly not going to go messing with my real apps. I use a trackball with a scroll wheel, so it's really of no use to me anyway...

Sigh... Now, just to see if I can do it, I'm going to create the "conveyor belt" control, and see if I can adjust the nib in a copy of an existing application to use it instead of the original scroll bar. Getting addicted to Cocoa, XCode and I…

You'll end up using both. First you use iMovie to make the slide show. You can adjust how many frames each slide takes, add the music, and set chapter markers (if it makes sense to do that). Then you use iDVD to set up the DVD menu. You can al…

Last time I tried that, Outlook ignored time zone information, and everything was off by 6 hours.

In iPhoto, the folder names that are numbers are year/month/day, so the path to the photos should be something like "~/Pictures/iPhoto Library/2004/09/27/something.jpg" Also, if you edit the picture in iPhoto, it seems to keep the original un-red…

My "Last Roll" album has been screwed up for a while now. I get around half my library in the Last Roll. I tried changing the number of rolls, I already tried the standard stuff, deleting prefs, etc. I think the metadata is just wrong. If I turn on …

Panther and Jaguar both came with XCode. You may need to install these from the OSX DVD. This also comes with tons of documentation, tutorials, sample development applications, etc. That's where I started, and it got me a long way. I like the book "…
