  • [quote]One thing that is sucking hard is MP3 players. I encoded a little with Media Player (at a limit of 192 kbps of course), haven't found a good MP3 ripper yet. Nothing at all matched iTunes for ease of use, that's for sure... Most people don't …
  • Why do some people try to express some sort of lifestyle through their computer purchase? It may have been valid when big blue was trying to control the PC market and apple's were used by hobbyists, but I don't get it now. linux user: I'm l33t, …
  • [quote]Prescott? With a name like that it'll get its ass kicked all over the schoolyard Seriously, what kind of a name is that?? Look at oregon in an atlas and you'll probably find out. I like Hammer and Crush better too.
  • Let's not let the fact that tivo or other apps cache our behaviour, or that it provides usefull features get in the way of our rage. Maybe these options should be turned off by default, but it's the same way with most software & websites. Ev…

  • [quote]Nope. Not gonna work. People would just take the stuff and keep their PCs. People are takers. Exactly. Stay with windows Drop $50-100, get all the significant software unique to mac's, keep your machine, peripherals, and software, go…
  • It mainly depends on the DAE speed of the cd/dvd drive. Encoding from the hard drive would be a better comparision. Later tracks can rip faster because the outer edge of the CD moves faster under the read head at the same rotation speed.
  • [quote]Just for info..the new movie Snow Dogs shows several Mac computers Please tell me you have children. The only thing I'd want to see in the 'snow dogs' theater would be pointy objects gouging my eyes out.
  • [quote]This is an Apple made myth. OSX is Apple's best effort in copying Windows NT. Microsoft knew they couldn't live off a dos shell forever so they introduced NT, something businesses could use. With 2k and XP they are marketing those same fe…
  • Hey everybody, Universal doesn't run their business the way we want, so lets all destroy their merchandise and commit fraud! I don't buy cd's or downloads that can't be converted to MP3's, however this isn't going to stop copy protected media…
